So I've gotten as far as doing a little test stitching. It was real stiff at first, not surprising, but loosened up after a few minutes without even oiling yet. It's real noisy in the hook area, rattles something awful but nothing's loose and the stitches are nice. I opened her up and this one's gonna be teaching me a few things. I've never been inside a machine that has 3 belts. I've never had a machine with a cleated belt.

Cari

Edit- One drop of oil to the hook race was all it took-no more rattle.

WOW, low hours I would guess I have never seen a cleated drive belt that was white, usually yellow and oil stained or a dark grey from rubbing on the metal pulley. Sure looks to be a nice one, good luck with it .

The cleated belt does look brand new, the long black belt looks okay but the short motor pulley belt has tiny cracks, it needs replaced. I'll replace both black belts if I can find them. They are very narrow, about 3/16".
Another first for me, I think this is the only machine I have that needs the zig zag cam to actually sew a zig zag. It's the only cam that has a metal center. It didn't take much to service her. No real cleaning needed inside, she was just thirsty. A drop of oil in all the right spots and she's sewing smooth and quiet.
Princess looks a lot like Richard(my FZ2 Pacesetter) in that they have the same basic body style,

but internally they are two completely different machines. The only thing they have in common is they're both a rotary machine, both use the same L style bobbin/case as a Singer 20U.

No, but I wouldn't exactly call the Pacesetter a 3/4 size. Neither one weighs a gazillion pounds, about 20 or so, but Princess has a full size case. Being a free arm, they seem smaller.
