If any one would question the star with a darker square in the middle, I would tell them that you used your "Artistic License" to do something different. I think it's a beautiful quilt.

It's beautiful. Love the precision on the points. I like the dark blue as well, actually, all the colors used.

(Just made my first 8-pointed star and the result was, I will have to practice points a lot more.)
