Yvonne, it is stunning and really fun looking. Your choice of colors and fabric is so out of the norm for me, that I found myself looking longingly at your quilt. I am currently on a 19th century kick and although I love all the fabric that comes into the shop, I still spend mostly on the repros. Your quilt has inspired me to look around again. Thank you.

Ricky Tims came to our guild and was very entertaining. Pam, the shop owner, did take his class and started one of the convergance quilts. But as a shop owner, her sewing time is limited. I think she has more UFO's than anyone. I think I will ask her to get that out, and I may try my hand at finishing it for her.

Hi Yvonne,
Your convergence quilt is as beautifu as the cardinal quilt. You are a very good quilter. I have one question, though, what is a convergence quilt?

Thank you for the kind words. I'm just having fun here! :o)
Ricky Tims has a book out on making convergence quilts.
Basically it's just cutting the strips of fabric, moving them around and sewing them together. Then you turn the whole thing and cut in the oposite direction, move the strips about again and sew those back together.
You're converging two pieces of fabric into one. It's a very simple process and you can make the quilt top in an hour or so.

WOW - that is really neat!! I like your fabrics - I have only seen it done in batiks and similar fabrics before, and I like yours better.

Does convergence mean the contrast in colors? Very pretty quilt.
