Well, I fell off the wagon. Since I needed backing fabric and also was running short on lights I decided to check out Fabric.com--Um... let's see, I ended up with 15 yards of fabric from their sale pages, then hit up the Connecting Threads clearance rack for another 10. However, I did manage to get all 25 yards for under $100.

12 yards are spoken for backing, binding and fill strips for the 2 UFOs that I am currently finishing up (hopefully for a July finish) and also for the 2 UFOs that are next in line (August finishes).

So I think that only counts as 11 yards of actual purchase that goes for stash. Most of that 11 yards consists of light-values which I was running short of so they will get used up pretty quickly. There were 3 yards of medium values that jumped into my cart because they were just so wonderful....

Guess I need a hand back up on the wagon!

rryder didn't you say your were going to use your birthday exemption? I've been planning on using mine this month if I can get up the energy to drive 70 miles up the mountain.

Good to see I'm not the only one using my BD exemption. And yes, to those who asked, it was established year before last that it is an honest to goodness exemption. Of course, it is supposed to occur in your BD month, but I think taking it a couple of months early as in my case wasn't too much a fall. If a fall at all. Oksewglad -- lovely top. Did you use a pattern or just get creative?

I haven't been quilting much since moving to this apartment and I really need to change that. It's just every time I try it looks like an explosion has taken place in a fabric store. And I hate putting everything up after each sewing session. I think I'm going to start doing 3 - 4 day "marathon" sewing sessions so I can get some tops finished and only have to tidy up at the end of the time. A couple of marathon sessions like that a month would be good therapy for me.

Belfry that, sounds like a good plan to me (3-4 day marathon).

Rryder, it sounds like you did an excellent job in saving money for your stash, etc. great job, and here's another hand.

I've been good the last few months. I do not need fabric at this time, so no buying. I also have not had time to sew either. Tile going in entryway, prevents me from getting to my quilting. Sad the really sad thing, I have time to sew. In a couple of days I'll be back in my sewing room. Yea!!!! I hear my AK Crossroads quilt calling me, and I need to do a block for a swap, and finish up 1-2 UFOs for their challenge this month. I still have 2 weeks.

My LQS closed last august 2015, and the building was sold in september. I bought my last fabric at 70% off then. So sad, I have 2 projects going, a scrappy jacobs ladder (kng size) and a crumb quilt (king size). Even my husband is getting testy over all the piecing of tiny scraps, but on I go. I'm glad there is a BD exemption ...i'm a July baby...and my 2 girls giggled over the Fancy Fox pattern and wanted me to make it. But alas, I have no modern fabrics, so I bought some. The kids are shocked I will quilt something out of my comfort zone. But gosh, it felt good to buy something ., even though I justified it by saying it was something THEY wanted. Am I living in denial? I confess, I am a fabricaholic, and I almost made it a year. Now, back to the crumbs.

Bekfrybat That sounds like goot plan. Been wondering hoe you were coming along. I am not getting anything done.
I am lucky to get a few asmall bags of mechanic rags cut for my soon.

I had planned to make some Xmas lap quilts to give. I decided in May if vision was worse I would not. Yes I am worse. I hope to make a few quilts for family. So will not be buying more material.
