    From what I remember, the technique on the Bernina didn't leave a nice stitch on the back. You use mono-filament thread in the top and a heaver weight thread in the bobbin and the machine pulls up the bobbin thread to make the "hand look" stitch.

    I bought the 8200 because dear husband thought it was enough of a machine. I wish I would have bought the 8900 and I probably wouldn't be looking at the 9400.
