You are just too generous QNS! I'll take all you want to send me! I love scrappy quilts!

My box from QNS arrived... Thanks so much for the lovely big pieces! They coordinate so well, all 4 of them can go together in one quilt.
Thanks also for the kids's prints for my I Spy quilts. Nice fussy cutting on the hexagons! You are very generous to share your goodies.

Hi all. It sounds like some happy friends enjoying QNS's packages. I know all of you will enjoy making some more pretty quilts, and she will be so happy too.

Here are pics of my goodies...
These pretty neutrals will work very well in my quilts!

Look at this cute piece! Cheater redwork.... I can see 'log cabin' strips in red around these centers.

Beautiful children's prints for I Spy quilting. Hey, I wonder if I can get a pair of boxers for hubby out of that piece of smiley face fabric?

And here is my progress on the shirts quilt, Carolina Crossroads. Day 6, all components are built, and this is how far I got in putting it together before deciding it was enough for today. Tomorrow I'll finish and start on the two scrappy borders.

Decided to just leave it square, because 2600+ pieces is enough, don't you think?

Good morning, ladies. I apologize for being MIA so much lately; I do read all the posts and think of all of you and wish you all positive energy. For some reason my life has been super busy--and in a good way. My class reunion was a month ago (I was reluctant to go) and I've re-connected with a lot of old (not that we're old lol) friends and we've been getting together a lot. We meet for lunches or dinners a couple of times a week and have been having a lot of fun. I'm just never home anymore. I was never one for a lot of socializing, always worked too many hours. I feel like I'm making up for all the fun I didn't have.
I've done very little sewing. FWS 1930s is still rolled up in the cupboard. I've been working on some real difficult pp blocks from a website called Ula's. It looks like stained glass with a ton of pieces in each block. each block is made up of 6 wedges and each wedge has 32 pieces and finishes at 12". Lots of sewing short seams, ironing and then trimming so each wedge takes about 4 hours. But I'm anal enough that it holds my interest.
Take care all of yinz and don't forget me lol! Do something you love today.

Yes, JuneBillie I am doing my happy dance that everyone has enjoyed the fabric sent in boxes. It will be so good to see the fabric made up that I did not have time for....to use in a quilt. My quilting room and guest room is more organized now and looks much neater. (the beds can be found again and move to move around in the guest room) Still have more to decide on...does it go or stay??? If it stays, where o where do I keep it or what would I be doing with it??? And am I going to have the time and energy to do anything with it??? I think the answer is that I would enjoy the most, is seeing it made up into useful projects and not sitting in boxes here where I just 'pet' it from time to time. If it just sits for you that is alright too.
Keep in mind, I do not live that far from Franklin, Mo., and the Missouri Star Quilt Company; we enjoy guests anytime.
I love your energy, SBG, getting the quilt tops together so quickly. And you do a great job.
JanRN, I am happy you took that leap of aith and re-connected to your friends. Its nice to have conversations outside the home.
I will be going back to DM for surgery the end of October on my nose and side of my face....still the same kind of 'good' cancer nothing radical yet. NMeans two shopping trips to replace fabric...LOL! Have a great day.

Don't tempt us with the Missouri Star Quilt Co! I've always wanted to see the phenomenon that is Hamilton.
Today I hope to get my shirt quilt top finished. I never take 7 days to put a top together! I am usually much faster, but then I'm not sure I've ever pieced over 2650 pieces in one top before, either!
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday....

JanRN, it's good to hear from you. Glad you have been having some fun. I've got to get my 30's sampler put together, too. When I finished the blocks I thought like, 'okay, it's done', but of course it's not. Need to put it together and admire my work. I was planning on hanging it on a wall. I have 81 blocks, so I could do a 9x9 layout and make a square wall quilt. Maybe this will be next, after my shirts quilt.
