Virtual Quilting Weekend -- October 7-10, 2016
#71
I got the piano key border done on the king sized log cabin quilt top I made this summer. I also ordered a flannel king sized top sheet in flannel to maybe use as the backing fabric. When is comes in I'll be able to take it all to the long arm quilter. It has been in the 40s this week and I really need something warm on the bed at night. That's why I got the flannel sheet. I hope it works! If not, I'll have to see what's out there and piece something together.
Heather, love those pillows!

I got mine sandwiched and about halfway quilted. I really lost steam with it so I switched to some applique blocks from a few weeks ago. Can't post pictures from my phone anymore so will have to share when I figure that out

I'm working on a dresden plate. It's purple and black, not my choice of colors, but I'm not finished so I may still fall in love with it before it's done.

What fun to see what everyone is working on!
I still am at a loss as to what to do for the 12" auction quilt, so yesterday I spent the whole day painting/dyeing/printing fabric. It was a lot of fun, but not what I needed to get done

I love all of the shared projects. Looking forward to see the progress at the end.
I'm in again. I have 2 days to work on my projects this time.
I plan to work on:
(1) A fall wall hanging using 2 1/2 blocks. I need to make 7 more blocks.
(2) Work on my 2 1/2" log cabin blocks. I have 31 blocks 1/2 way sewn and need to make a total of 72 blocks for a king size bed.
(3) Work on finding fabric for my 2 1/2" candy fall swap that is currently taking place on the board. If I can get my fabric selected and ironed. Then I can cut and sort later this week and mail out.
(4) Complete 1 UFO project for this month. (that should be my #1 project).
***** FYI, if anyone is interested, there is a swap going on this board, for 2 1/2" candy (fabric) squares. You still have time to sign up for the fall candy 2 1/2" swap. ****
Happy sewing and quilting everyone.

Love seeing everyone's photos and projects. Don't have a picture but spent 7 hours on my 75" square quilt yesterday. This is my first project using my new Juki and so far I'm really loving it. I got all the foundational quilt lines done and started filling in the straight line echo areas, then after dinner spent a while burying ends while watching a movie. I'm anxious to get started again today.

I started sewing on my DIL's quilt top from fabrics she had sent me for her a memory type quilt from the two colleges she has gone to. She graduates with her masters in December. Here are some pics of before and after
It literally took me 6 months and a few extras to finally decide on a design. As you can probably tell she is from Texas!
