Default Need ideas for a Harry Potter lap Quilt

I have searched the web and the bookcase idea is what generally pops up. Any other suggestions? This is going to be a retirement present 🎁 for my wonderful Dentist. He is a big Harry Potter Fan. Thanks for any suggestions. Photos would be welcome too.

Go to http://fandominstitches.com I made my granddaughter a Harry Potter's bookcase quilt several year ago.
These are all paper pieced blocks. Very well drafted. I was new to paper piecing and never had any problems.
Good luck, I know you can do it.

I second Fandom in Stitches, as long as you're comfortable with paper piecing. They have really great patterns, and dozens of blocks/images to choose from.

Edit: For layout/design, I would probably do the big school crest (finishes at 20" square), then put other blocks around it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1m...A4akFzVlk/view

I am really not interested in the bookcase idea or paper piecing, just thought someone may have explored something different. Thanks

Do a sampler quilt, with blocks in the house colors:
Gryffindor (red and gold)
Slytherin (green and silver)
Hufflepuff (yellow and black)
Ravenclaw (blue and bronze)
if he is a fan, he will recognize them.

There are HP panels for easy quilts. Check eBay.
