I have the sidewinder and also use pre-wound bobbins. Love both of those. Joann's is where I got the sidewinder, and I think I used a coupon.

Can you use the Sidewinder with Featherweight bobbins? My 301a's bobbin winder needs adjustment and I can never get it quite right.

I have a side winder, its about 6 years old. I love it. I haul it to classes, retreats, any where I may be sewing. I have loaned it out to be used for singers, Husqvarna, brothers, Elna, New Homes, Kenmore, Janome, Pauff, Bernini, and many more, In a pinch I have used it to load a bobbin for my Tin Lizzie long arm ( they load a bobbin while you stich) It only loaded half the bobbin but it was enough to work with until my LA go another bobbin full.

Really like my "pink" bobbin winder. I usually wind a bunch at a time with neutral threads.

Have you tried to look at it yourself? Bobbin winder on my vintage (1965) 503 Singer quit so I was winding on a 99 which was set up. DH was trying to fix another problem the 503 had and when he had the top cover off, he adjusted something and bobbin winder worked after that.

It was a couple of years ago, so I can't remember what he did, but a gear wasn't connecting (obviously). Also found a lot of lint that we cleaned out! By the way, this Singer has never been to a repair shop despite lots of use. It was my Aunt's. DH is my handy man and I'm keeping him!

I have the Sidewinder & I use it all the time. I really like it. I have thought about putting weight in it like Onebyone did but I haven't yet. It is really light weight
