Hi Anoka, this is a downsized pattern from an old QUILT magazine, summer 1994. the quilt title is Starllit Flower Garden and uses two old blocks that are searchable on any good block site.

The block names are Road to Paradise which has the HSTs in the corners and Garden walk which has the 4P corners.

I am now doing this in a full size quilt. A fun pattern to work on. Happy that you like it.

I think I'm going to make the deadline with a couple of days to spare. <whew!> But I'm dithering about the border. My initial plan was to use the tiny bluebonnet print that surrounds the red star as the border as well. But it seems a bit blah, so I pulled out the olive fabric to audition. Which do you think will look better? Any and all opinions welcome. I do back to front binding and the fabric I am using is a small to medium bright wildflower fabric, so the "binding" will have some blue, red, orange, and green in it. That might help brighten the olive if I use it. This will measure about 25" square when finished.

Don't know what you think belfrybat, but I don't think that plaid olive green goes with it at all...just my opinion..if that is your choices I'd use the other.

If the binding is colorful, the green might be nice resting spot for this happy star. I would lay them next to each other to see if the backing looks overly powerful and distracting with either fabric. I agree that the green might not be the right color but maybe one that is more true green.

Ach! I'm a dummy! I didn't realize the bed spread would be seen as one of the choices - it is not. Sorry for the confusion. The small blue/green bluebonnet print or the olive green are my choices.

Here's a picture without the bed spread showing and showing the amount of backing that would be seen from the front -- see the top and bottom of the picture. Maybe this will be more clear.

I like the olive, it breaks it up.
