Default Granddaughters wedding quilt

My DGD had gotten married last year and saved pieces of her wedding dress that were cut off during the alterations. She asked me if it was possible to use them in a quilt. Now mind you they were Small pieces. But of course she did not want any colors in the quilt except "very light tans and white". What the heck?? Crazy girl !! Of course I said ok, although I was thinking this is not going to be any fun! I was at a loss how to do this because of the limited amount of fabric. After a lot of thinking and doodling I came up with a disappearing nine patch. Some of the nine patches had to be pieces in separate pieces to use the smaller pieces. It took a while until I got the hang of doing that. While doing it I was not liking it and was sure she wouldn't either. Surprise surprise when I finished it, got it quilted and binding on, I love it. I was surprised all white worked! My DGD loves, loves, it and said it is better than perfect for her. Who knew!

forgot to mention only the pieces that appear tan ( actually are off-white satin ) from her dress. everything else are white and off white from my stash. I only purchased the backing for this.

An excellent idea to use the scraps and the quilting is wonderful.
