Sheep Farmer-beautiful quilt and I have been thinking about making this quilt but it certainly is way down on my bucket list. You did a great job and maybe with the ruler I could make it work. Thx for sharing.

This is what I have done as well.

I like to use PPing for this block. It makes it so easy and almost fool proof for me. I get distracted easily and PPing keeps me on track.
peace

Paper piecing, though tedious, has worked best for me. An alternative might be Bonnie Hunter's Pineapple Blossom.

I have done it both ways but it depends on how confident you are with your 1/4" seam. PP is next to perfect

I also used Eleanor Burns method and a regular ruler. I finished the quilt in March 2016 and gave it to my son and daughter in law. In November their house burned. The quilt was salvaged but not in its best condition.

I use the Creative Grids ruler and also took a class with its designer Jean Wright [she is an awesome teacher], and the great thing is you use strips. It makes 6,8 or 10 inch blocks. No paper, razor sharp accurate blocks, love it!
