Little clamps

Default Little clamps

I keep finding these little clamps in boxes of attachments. What do people use them for? They're about 1" x 1" and the bottom bar swings out. They apparently originally are used to clamp hoses, but...

Just guessing here. Perhaps it's to secure the electrical cord out of the way onto a cabinet or table lip.

These are tubing clamps (they are still made). No clue as to why they would be with sewing machine attachments.
