Summer Picnic BOW sew-along - 11 weeks beginning June 21 - Free

Thank you for asking!!! I am flattered. You must remember that I am color challenged due to my Dad's color sight problems. It was constant chaos in our house what color was what. He would buy mouse grey cars. Mom had to pick out his clothes. My neighbor says I see different colors than other people. I know I can't play music because I don't hear the same thing they are playing.
Soooo....I'll gladly tell you my philosophy. Put some wild color into everything. It makes life zippy. I would stay away from the teastained stuff and put highly charged, high contrast colors, but to stay in a color family.
Now...here is my disaster. I put the sashing on with the darker of the golds that I had and the dark red cornerstones with the darker gold stars and everything went together fine, until the last block. Then the whole thing exploded. I have taken it apart 3 times and sewed it back together. It's almost like I am making the same mistake again and again.
Did you hear that Bonnie Hunter had to cancel her trip to Oregon? My good quilting friend in Northern Calif. and my two brothers in Calif. are smoked in.

I've been lurking on the side lines for 2 of these QALs and she started her Autumn Evening Project today. Does anyone know if a new thread will be started for this new BOW? I'm starting to work on this project and was interested if others are going to start it as well. Please PM me if you are. Thank-you.

Ok was able to complete the top on this one too. Borders are smaller because I used what I had. Did it in 30's reproduction's. Not the greatest photo you get the idea.

I just found this. I like everyone's blocks very much. I hope you will show your finished tops(I'll check back to see).I signed up for the next one(in progress) but haven't started. I think I like this one better. I'm not too fond of doing the smaller blocks inside the stars(little pieces). But, we'll see!

Ok friends, need some input. I have finished to my satisfaction the top and went to the triple closet to retrieve the fabric I had been saving for the outer border. NOT enough! I only have one yard of that red with the gold stars left. I do have 52 linear inches (which is enough) of the red and yellow corn. I could use an off white with gold stars as an inner border and then have a 5 inch wide border of the red with gold stars. At least I finished the top.
