I guess I never made a distinction between the two terms either. I do quite a bit of sewing using my scraps from other projects or things I have purchased at thrift stores or yard sales. I don't usually color match unless I am doing a Bonnie Hunter pattern. I guess I just kinda throw things together. LOL

Here are two scrap quilts I finished recently. I think of both as scrap quilts as they were made with leftover scraps from a variety of other quilts. I would call the mini a "scrappy" scrap quilt, I think of the other (which is a 22.5" square table topper) as a scrap quilt and some might call it a "controlled scrappy" while others might not view it as scrappy at all. In my mind, I tend to use "scrappy" as an adjective and "scrap" as a noun/category. Some folks might use both scrappy and scrap as nouns others might use both as adjectives--
