Lets see if this works -

Looks to me like a late 50s-early 60s machine, not much more I can tell you, sorry. Does it have a JA# underneath the lip or on the underside of it anywhere? Sometimes the manufacturer can be known by that #. I don't see a door for cams. The "Automatic ZigZag" badge should mean it's built in, doesn't need cams.

You have to turn it around on your computer and save it to fix it. It may look upside down on your computer. Some phones and tablets have a built in indicator on the photo that says which way is up. So, if you take the photo with the phone or tablet turned, it will look right to you, but not to the website. I've even had that problem with a good camera. Again, the only way to fix it is to turn the photo upside down on your computer and save.

There is a door at the top to insert the cams. I will see if I can post a picture.

Yes I can see the cam door now. But you shouldn't need a cam to zig zag, only for doing fancy stitches.

I like the old machine from the original poster too, more than seven years ago. A early machine with what I assume have to be sintered gears. By know they need oil though, something pure and long lasting, not too many additives and a bit thicker than the average sewing machine oil.

Mickey I think the original machine shown in this thread is one of the Chrysler/New Process Gear machines. Arguably the worst Kenmore ever made depending on who you ask. Not sintered bearings, some kind of nylon that even absorbed moisture out of the air. The trick to making these machines run right is climate control.
