I had some Peppa pig fabric that I wanted to show case, so I did a disappearing nine patch using 6” blocks and using the method where you cut through the middle vertically and horizontally and turn. 2 of the blocks so that you have 2 little locks on outside corners. The blocks look like they are floating. It turned out great. Good luck with your project.

Do you have any solid-looking fabrics you could add to the mix ?

'Periscope' by Becky Petersen at Quilted Twins. It has a 12" piece that seems big for a piece in a quilt top, but it would be good for a focus print that is large scale. If the boats are not that large, you could always add a border to get the block to the 12" size. The second 12" (I think it's called Shoofly?) block might be good for the Egyptian print. The third block, Courthouse steps, would be good for your smaller prints. The pattern is definitely an easy-to-sew quick type pattern.
