Fortunately, in person you barely notice the quilting. The fabric colors are very rich and the design is very intriguing. Apparently the light of the camera flash made the quilting look far more heavy and dominant than it really is.

Isn't it funny how a camera often "sees" things differently than the human eye does?

Four-patch posies are great! I've made several myself. What's confusing me is that the one I posted is made of 8 pieces rather than four. Can't seem to find a match via google, either. Darn!

are you talking about the smaller ones? the cornerstones in the sashing?
the small corners of purple are different.looks nice though.

The cornerstones are 4-patch posies, but the large squares are 8-patch. If memory serves (and it certainly may NOT), the cornerstones were a happy side-effect of constructing the large 8-patch units.

Is it a Stack and Whack by Bethany Reynolds? If there are 8 pieces in the larger blocks, then they are 45 degree triangles. Very pretty

I have one of Bethany Reynolds' books at home. I didn't think it was the source of the pattern, but I'll take another, more careful, look.
