Following along - these color choices remind me of Celtic Soltice's color choices. That quilt finished astoundingly beautiful.
Here's mine before attaching binding and trimming edges.

Wow - Chickadee that's a beautiful quilt. Were those the actual Bonnie colors or your own variation?

I really like the color combo this year and seeing everyone fabrics. I wish I could do scrappy but I have so many other projects right now the only way I can participate is using 1 or 2 fabrics for each color. I hope it will work out if this ends up being a String Mystery.

This was a mystery before I started following the mysteries, but is my favorite of all her mystery quilts.

Yes - those were Bonnie's colors. That's why I say it finished beautifully.

Tweety, did you get that orange bundle from Quilted Twins?? It just spoke to me. Then I watched BH go through her new book on the blog this a.m. I want to make an Emerald City in Oranges.

Maybe you ladies can help me w/ a design dilemma. I am working on this quilt for a great niece. I have run out of the pink, but my quilt is to short the way it is w/ just the cubes. I have enough to the 4 patches to put a double row (on point and alternating w/ the dark blue fabric) at the top like a "pillow border" or I can put a single row on top and bottom. I can not add any to the width (I already have the backing and it is just wide enough.

Any ideas?

I like the idea of the pillow border. I'll bet she is thrilled with this quilt!

The pillow idea on point would look fine. Or, what about using a different fabric in place where you ran out of the pale pink, just continue with the same pattern to get the length you want, but adding a new color for the triangles/diamond shape in that top pillow area.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a pillow border?

I think the pillow border is a good idea but I think it needs a stop border - maybe one of your blues or a darker pink? Or if you want it more balanced you could put a stop border at the top and bottom and then do some of your 4-patches both top & bottom.
