Simply beautiful!
I have red green and yellowish fabrics that I don't know what to do with them. Your quilt is very inspiring!

That is beautiful! I love your fabric choices. Great job on the quilting, too.

Wow!! That is a wonderful Christmas quilt. Thank you so much Grandma Mary for sharing the link and for sharing your tips on choosing fabrics and how it goes together.

The difficulty level depends on how experienced you are. I’ve got a few hints that makes it easier, once I finished my first one 4 years ago.
First, If you can, don’t pick directional fabrics, as it makes the cutting easier. If you do have directional, be extra observance of which way to cut it.
Second, once you’ve chosen the fabrics, roll them into tubes and weave them like the above picture. Do this several ways until you find the arrangement you like. Then, label each one with the labels of the pattern. The V’s are your vertical ribbons, and the H’s are your horizontal ribbons.
Third, once you get an arrangement that you like and because your fabric colors most likely won’t match the colors in the pattern, make yourself a cheat sheet. I took a small snip of each ribbon and glued them to a card stock paper, the order of the AV, BV etc. Do the same for the AV, BV etc. clearly label each little square correctly. Then you can refer to it over and over to be sure which is which when you are cutting!
All of this actually takes longer than actually sewing the rows together!
The sewing goes fast if before sewing I lay the rows out correctly, gather each row up, clip them together with the first block on top and labeled as to which row. Then all you do is sew row one, then two, and you’re done in no time.
