Yes, welcome to the board. Now I've seen work by beginner quilters that absolutely floored me. Beautifully done. So keep looking and you probably could do it if you really want to. I have faith.

Welcome, Alexandra! I think the questions have been covered, but just wanted to add that we shouldn't assume you're a new quilter just because you're new to the board. In any case, you are definitely ambitious. I have been quilting for many years, and I like to admire quilts with lots of curves, bias edges, complicated repetitions and difficult matching, etc. from a safe distance. I have no doubt that people with higher aspirations achieve more, so you are off in that direction just for having the desire to do something like this. I hope you'll keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome from SC Texas. I had a neighbor who hand quilted this quilt for each of her children. She gave me a book of this pattern and even though I have been quilting for a long time I am very afraid to try to do this one. If you do this one study the pattern very good and work slowly. The problem for my friend was to keep the center flat. After she got a good start on that she was fine. Good luck with yours and be sure to show us the finished quilt.

The qvc link you provided looks to be a variation of a Giant Dahlia quilt.
Here are some images/pattern links. https://www.google.com/search?source...31.LTA0S8DNOto

Thank you All for the beautiful support and encouragement. I can't wait to get connected and share experiences and tricks with you all. I am fairly new, I've made about one quilt a year for the past three year. I was a costume designer for middle school and high school but only picked up quilting in my last 20s. Here's a few shots of my first three so you have an idea of my aesthetic and spirit i'm trying to bring to the quilt world. I have my Great Grantmother's Singer 401a which is the most special thing I have in my life and brings me so much joy.
All the best on all your projects!
Alexandra.

Your quilts are beautiful & you look to be very talented. Thank you for sharing them with us.
This is not the same pattern you are looking for but is probably a bit easier than the Dahlia quilt pattern. I fell in love with this Mandala quilt the first time I saw it on Rob Appell's Man Sewing you tube. You might want to try it.
