My current WIP

I know it will be quilted QAYG, b/c that is the only way I do it. I am waiting on a piece of bias binding (1/4 inch so I buy it tried making it once never again) that I will use for fancy outline of the center area I will likely do some kind of echo of that shape for that area. Not exactly sure how I will quilt the rest but something simple as I am not much of a quilter, piecing and designing are my wheel house.

As to how I've done it, I considered curved piecing I am comfortable w/ that but thought it would be so much more accurate and easy to just machine applique. So I made a brown paper (think paper sack) template put a tiny touch of stick glue to hold it in place, trim the edges of the fabric to 1/4 ish inch from the curve clip edges press under w/ a hot iron, let cool, take paper off, use a little more glue w/ a hot iron to make sure pressed under seam stays put place on the background sashing fabric and machine straight stitch the folded edge.

We are joining you in the cold this weekend with snow again. As long as the electricity hold up there will be a hum coming from the sewing room all weekend.
I just cannot wrap my mind around how you put something like this together. Speechless. Creative. Talent. Award winning. All those wonderful descriptive words apply. You are truly an artist.

I got my 1/4 inch bias binding in the mail today so had to add it to the quilt center, I love how it looks. I need to do a little more quilting on the center, but otherwise the center is finished.
