The darker batik looks quite bright on my monitor, pink rather than purple. It seems as though it might draw attention from the flower prints because of the brightness, but perhaps I am not seeing it correctly. I really like the middle batik for the background. I would use all the flowers together and I agree about removing the green frame from the panels.

I would suggest you google 'BQ1 quilts' (if it is 1); there will be many examples in 'images' and you will be able to assess the effect of your potential choices when you see what others have done.

Thank you so much everyone.

I'm 99% sure of what I am going to do ... I saw a different layout of this pattern on pinterest: https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/20547742020968075/

So I'm going to use all the blocks, but I will buy (sigh, and I wasn't supposed to LOL) blue fabric to frame the blue flowers.

I love the middle one for the background for all of the flowers. And the purple fabric looks so nice against the purple / pink flowers.

I will post pics as I make progress!

Sounds like a great plan. I am glad you are not afraid to use all the flowers together in the same quilt, because they look great together. Have fun!

Personally I would use all of the flower blocks on a quilt. Everyone of them is beautiful and they do go together.

That is a lovely practice quilt. What pattern is it. i ahve seen others in that idea and would like to use up some small panel blocks I have laying around.
Would you be willing to share the name?

I would leave the green borders in the focus fabric because your middle fabric has some washed out green in it, and I think it would compliment those flower squares. For some reason, I'm just not loving the 3rd fabric, it just looks too washed out to me, the contrast would be too much..I'd just use the first(purple), and middle fabric.

Here is the thread where I am posting my progress: flower panel

I couldn't keep the green border around it because the fabric was warped ... when I cut it out around the border they were all wonky shaped. So no border!
