I have 2 featherweights and if all you want is a relatively light machine that does a great straight stitch that's a good choice. You can get a walking foot for them also. They do have them on Ebay quite frequently.

I bought the LX 3125 at WalMart. Overall, it is a nice machine, especially for the money, but the noise (maybe the bobbin or needle casing area) is bothersome to me.

Sears has nice portables machines made by Janome and has the Janome portables too. If you don't have a big Sears local, check out the website.
