What fun! You can embroider recipients' names on your quilts, or make alphabet quilts, flower blocks and personalized labels. Here's the first thing I did when I got mine -

It sews perfectly and I did one embroidery pattern. I am taking it in Sat because it has an annoying noise when I sew. I hope the noise can be found and fixed. Sounds like something is barely touching a spring making a chime noise. I don't expect it to be under warranty since it's not made anymore and I'm fine with that.

Yes it should be under warranty since you bought it new, it doesn't matter that that it's old stock. Having it serviced is a good idea since it sat for years without being used.

I'm not going to send it in to the manufacturer which is what I think will be the case. I'd rather pay a service charge an get it looked at and back home in a week. The noise is less noticeable today. Maybe just needs to be used. DH said to give it a good shake. LOL

A basic service shouldn't mean going back to the manufacturer. They should do that right at the dealer. And it shouldn't cost you anything. No, don't shake it. Even though it's a new machine, it sat for years so that internal lubrication that would have been spread around by the machine being used has just sat there. I've seen NOS machines that were completely seized up because they had never been used.

I took it to the dealer this afternoon. Didn't make the sound at all. I guess the car ride shook it up enough. DH was right, it needed a good shaking.

Default Brother pacesetter 8500 D

Anyone one know if their local shop may have parts for this model. It also can share parts with the
PC8500 and super galaxie 2100/2100D.

Thanks
