Terriamn, am loving both new blocks, especially the red and orange of JayneW’s block.

DH and I took a short drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Gorgeous views until a controlled underbrush burn filled the sky with smoke. Here are a couple of pix.

When my kids were little, DH and I drove the Blue Ridge Parkway nearly every Saturday or Sunday when it was good weather. We lived in Shelby then. I'd pack up fried chicken, potato salad and plain ole pork & beans for a picnic lunch and the kids loved it. We'd pull over under some trees at a picnic table and pig out. Good old days! Sure brings back some good memories!

I love my block, Terri! Thank you. Love the color and the style.

Janice, that's some beautiful country! If California would do those controlled burns again, there would be nearly none of those out of control fires they have every year.

Lovely pictures, Janice! I do so dearly miss mountains after leaving New Zealand. Kansas prairie has grown on me, but I'll never be able to love it like mountains.

Those sound like great memories, Libster.

Beautiful view Janice other the smoke. Are you terribly dry there, Minnesota and Texas are. Lots of fires in both states.

Libster sounds like a great memory

The desert is coming alive, lots of beautiful blooms. Will try and get a few photos

The views here are beautiful. We sit in a valley and have to take a drive to really get the full scope of the mountains. Terriamn, we’re a little behind on rain but not bad. More rain is coming tomorrow so it will put out those fires, apparently that’s the forest service’s plan. Controlled burn sounds like an oxymoron if ever I heard one.

Good afternoon my boom friends,

Apologize (again) for my slow responses.... I have to say, I think the blocks this boom are some of the best ever! The creativity is amazing! Thank you to all who have made my blocks - I love them! I'm excited to put together the final projects - these are gifts which are always way more motivating for me to finish than quilts for myself!

The posts about dhs working cracked me up! My first dh was the perfect fixit man, he could do ANYTHING.... unfortunately, not as good in the husband category. Now, the boyfriend is the perfect companion but NOT a fixer at all. I've learned to embrace it and either just write the check or be patient and help him figure it out.

Here are my first two blocks... as always, I'm a bit slow to the party.

First is for LStew and second for MJP.

Good to hear from you, Jayne. I laughed at the other stories of DHs too. Sounds like you’ve got the right guy this go round. . You’re right about this Boom. Creativity is found in every set of F8s!

I really like your blocks for Lstew and mjp. Great start! Look forward to more terrific blocks
