I have the purple Olisa Mini on a rotating mat next to my sewing machine on my sewing table. I also do not use steam with the mini-iron. It works great. The reason I love it is that the silicone soleplate cover will flip over and you use it to store the hot iron on while waiting for the next set of pieces to iron, and that the silicone soleplate has a loop in the end to hang it. I hang mine on the end of my craft table on a 3M Command hook when not in use. I also like that the tip is a bit sharper than the other mini-irons I've seen. I'll upload a few pics to show mine. It is also a lot more powerful, 1000 watts as compared to others of far less heat and wattage. It gets really hot, to the point that when I put it on its silicone mat, which was on a wool ironing mat, it warped my lightboard. Lesson learned, but the heat is what I wanted.

To the original poster- I mentioned a full size iron, sorry about that!
I have a small Steamfast and like it quite a lot. I don't remember what I paid for it but not much. Instead of steam I have a spray bottle of water nearby.

after reading all these posts, I stumbled across this and wondered if it is familiar to any of you.
I have never seen anything like this, and I wonder if it is awesome or awkward?

Sole plates around 2 - 2.5 inches each?

I sometimes make a paste with baking soda and vinegar and rub off the soleplate, but then I take the iron outside the door and spray it with water to get rid of the extra. Today I was in a hurry and just rubbed in soda ash and that worked.

Several of my quilting group have this iron to use for pressing seams and blocks. Not for bigger pressing jobs. Not expensive about $40. and so far no one has any complaints about it.
