I love the look of smaller stipples. There is something so comforting about this technique on quilts, and reminds me of vintage whole cloth quilts - my favs. Beautiful work!.

Thanks for the info. I've just bought a bolt of batting so will use that up first, but I think it might be fun to try a "puffy" quilt one day. :-)

My husband and my girls too, like the poof of the quilts and they are soft. This is what I use. I can get it at JoAnns or Walmart. I think I’ve bought it at Hobby Lobby too. Don’t know if any of these stores are available to you. I know some quilters like it and some don’t, but we do.

I really couldn't see much difference, both look fine to me. I know what you mean about meandering. I usually end up doing the same size of meanders.

I love your choice of colors, I too have made this quilt, but used leftover Lori Holt fabrics from a fat quarter bundle with borders in red. would love to see other's quilts

All are very pretty. I use mostly high loft polyester batting for my own quilts. For donation and other give away quilts I use a lower loft batting or project fleece.

For those looking for the blue quilt, here's the link https://www.quiltingboard.com/vbulle...s-t320626.html.

toogie, did you use the same batting in both quilts? The looser quilting in the yellow one would allow your high loft batting to show better.

I am drawn to the yellow one, but I think that's more the color than the quilting. Both are lovely! I only use cotton or wool batting, polyester is just too hot for me. I've always run hot, and now that I'm older, that's more true than ever. Who knew that hot flashes continue well after menopause. So unfair! The extra weight doesn't help, but I've lost half of what I'd like and don't see any difference.

Would you share the name of the pattern?

I really didn’t have a pattern just a picture I saw online. I just called it squares set on point with 9patch border-lol Thank you for adding the link to Eva’s blue quilt. I did use the same batting but stitched Eva’s a lot closer. Hers has a bumpy feel to the hand and a little more body. The yellow was stitched further apart and has a more drape-y feel and soft to the hand. The one I saw online had a red border like the quilting board member shows in a comment above.

Don't know how I missed this but it is lovely, just like the blue. The simple design really shines on point with the addition of the 9 patch borders. It's just darling in any shade or color.
