They are so cute! I have found that I get frustrated with a pattern that is difficult for me. Have you thought about setting aside a block of time each week or month, to make a certain amount of blocks? It may be easier to do in smaller steps.

That is going to look amazing when its done. Like the decision for a black background, that makes the parrots pop.

Not tricky but a lot of 1 inch pieces and many angles.

I love that pattern. Bought a kit with it, but want to do it way more colorful then the fabrics it came with. I recently bought a mid blue for the background to use. It looks great with black the way you are doing it.

I also have her dinosaur pattern, and have made several child quilts with that one. It's about the same as far as keeping all the pieces organized!
