My DS who sits behind a computer the whole day swears by those yoga balls. Nearly all ladies in his office use them instead of an office chair and some of the guys. I can see a difference in his core.

Anna, I don't think I can operate a sewing machine on a yoga ball. I also roll back and forth between my embroidery machine and/or serger throughout the day. I would fall off and break something. "I've fallen and I can't get up!!!"

Costco sells a gel cushion -- they are usually very reasonable on price with good quality products.

Bonnie Hunter recommends the following: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K0OL2G6...s_mixed_d_asin

I have it on my "wishlist." :-)

Amazon has a chair for the yoga ball, I have it and absolutely love it. You can order it with or without arms, it has a back just like an office chair. CanDo Metal Ball Chair, inflatable. Look them up, they probably have other models too.

Heads up. The purple one that is a round air cushion was extremely uncomfortable. It didn't even get taken when I put it on the free table at Guild.

I use the Gaiam Balance Disc Wobble Cushion. The wobble is subtle, but I can tell my core is engaged.
    It's available here: https://www.amazon.com/Gaiam-Balance...64&sr=8-1&th=1

I ordered two gel cushions from Amazon Amazon.com: Gel Seat Cushion, Double Thick Gel Cushion for Long Sitting with Non-Slip Cover, Wednesday and received them on Thursday....super fast shipping. I have one on my sewing chair and one on the chair I use for cross stitch. Very comfortable and at an affordable price.
