Janice, you are so ahead of the game. I was just about to start cutting squares from leftover from my current almost finished quilt when I put on the breaks. Can't cut until my current quilt is really finished and ready for sandwiching. Keep cutting my friend. Twenty is a good number. We may have a few more but I would be surprised if it was a HUGE number more. We have been hovering around 20 for several years now.

Thanks for this final push and i’m done! Woo hoo! Just finished my last set of 20. Now to start wrapping them up tomorrow. I feel good that I’ve done it early. Now that the table is cleared off, there’s no excuse not to quilt CC or something else.

    Oh my! Thank you!
Are you sending me military gerbils? It's been years since I had pet gerbils. I wonder if my furr baby will tolerate them....

Ibex, your package left the mitten state about noon today and should show up to you on Friday.

    Smile Candies

Thanks everyone for the Birthday wishes and the lovely Candies! I'm looking at a few different patterns to use these lovelies but haven't decided on any particular one. I love the look of the Irish Chain!

We made it a fun weekend. My Niece flew down from Ohio on Saturday to take me to dinner! What a treat! Dinner, conversation, a walk around the neighborhood and back. We have a tradition to work on puzzles together whether at her house, on a trip or at my house. Well, she brought the cutest puzzle, similar to a Rifle Paper Company flower puzzle. We managed to finish it up before we returned her to the airport for a flight home on Sunday. Although I'm retired and have no schedule - she is still a working gal!

Today, I'm feeling a little punky - so Hubby made me some Chicken Soup! Hopefully I haven't picked up a bug.
On to another year around the sun!

I have more Candies to cut to get packages ready for 2025.

    Cheers to my Quilting Friends!

Candy idea from instagram, it used rectangles but it would work for candies, this one had such movement ;-) hugs!

The critters in my Veteran's Day photo is of a fictional wild animal found in Scotland, the Wild Haggis. Here is what I copied from a goggle search..."The wild haggis is a fictional creature from Scottish folklore that is said to be the source of the traditional Scottish dish haggis. The wild haggis is described as a small, shaggy, four-legged animal with legs of different lengths on each side of its body. The wild haggis is said to have evolved to live on the steep hillsides of Scotland, allowing it to run quickly in one direction."

I am seeing photos of them all over Facebook and thought the little critters dressed in uniform surrounded by poppies was a charming reminder about Veteran's day or as it is called in the Europe, Remembrance Day. Sorry, Ibex, no wild haggis in your package. If any of you are charmed by them there are several FB groups devoted to the preservation of the Wild Haggis. Tee-Hee-Hee!

I just got the OK to run the birthday swap again for 2025. So it is official! I will not post the new thread December 1. Let's finish this year strong my swapper friends.

I'm working on candies for next year too but I'm only up to 16 piles. I don't have a candy stash like some of you except for the ones I received from all of you which I'm still sorting and thinking gleefully what to do with! But I did decide when buying fabric this year, when there was extra, to just start cutting it into candies for 2025. So I've got 16 different fabrics that are cut into 20+ squares each. That only leaves 34 to go. Fortunately I enjoy the process of cutting, especially on a cold, rainy night, and this is an excuse to buy a bit more fabric. You guys, it's probably going to be a lot of batiks again, just warning you since that's my favorite fabric to work with.
