Lots of productive folks on here. I woke up early this morning and knew I wouldn't get back to sleep so at 5am (on a Saturday no less!) I started the HST for the Bonnie Hunter mystery. I have them all sewn and pressed and will probably trim them this evening or tomorrow. I also paired the HST squares for the Cut & Bolt mystery and will sew them later. Last evening I decided to bind the last Christmas quilt and disaster struck when my even feed foot disintegrated on me. I called the Janome repair shop this morning and they are closed due to illness so I won't be able to finished binding the quilt this weekend. And of course, none of the three walking feet I have will fit my model of Janome. Pits!

I finished the origami bags. I made an extra for just in case and a sewing theme fabric one for dragging sewing things down to the family room. Eight all together.
Now to figure out the finishing of the quilted piece for my neighbor's kid.
I will also fill out my cards so all of these bags can be mailed back east with the presents inside.
We went to a gala last thursday night and there were two people there that I have committed myself to three baby quilts to. Oh dear. I have one top finished, so I need to figure out the other two.

The excavator panel quilt is finished and washed, thankful to get it done. The backing is a cuddly black fleece throw. I sat and did some big stitch while a zoom was on.
eek, this wind is making our lights flicker…guess I’d better take a break from stitching for now.

    Default Wrapping up for Christmas

I finished my "Square Links" quilt that I've been working on for the previous 2 VQW's. Finished facing it, and washed it on Thursday. Yesterday I packed it (yes it did fit in that box!), and started and almost finished some mug rugs to send across the country to some friends. Hope to finish and pack them up today. (*Whew!") Happy Holidays everyone!

No sewing yesterday, not a stitch. Hoping to do some final calculations for my unfinished Scrappiness is Happiness BOM. I did some substitutions of blocks thus got behind and need to recalculate some of the sashing. Why do I do this to myself? I have been putting this off for several weeks because it is just so fussy and putsy to make all of the adjustments.

So many of you are making good progress and finishes. I really want to join your crowd. Tee-Hee-Hee!

Thimblebug, my favorite part is the background quilting. Looks like a storm brewing!
I did add finished blocks to my design wall yesterday.

We had a scare first thing in the morning. DH came in from feeding animals all in a tizzy. "We gotta take Sadie to the vet! She won't get up or lift her head!" She is being treated for heartworms, and we thought the worst.
Had to lift all 100 pounds of dog into backseat of the truck. DH entered vet to get help unloading her, but came back with steam coming out of his ears. They don't accept emergencies!!! Sent us to Oso Clinic, which charged my DD $900 for cat with diarrhea!
Brought her home and put her in a smaller pen (less than an acre), and kept checking her. She is improving today!
I'll post her pic in Diaries. It won't show up in mailbox.

Robert Burns: "Best laid plans of mice and men go oft astray." Embroidery machine was recalcitrant, has been cleaned/needle changed, tinkered with off and on all day yesterday in between sewing blocks together. I'm reporting that I'm halfway through on assembling quilt top. Keep on stitching everyone.

I took the border off of a log cabin star quilt. I just hated the look of it, so it had to go. It fought me the whole way, but, I won. LOL! I found the backing I want for it and now to the pressing and layering the sandwich. I want to work on the little bunny for the neighbor kid. I just can't wrap my head around what I want to make it into. So that project is stalled. She doesn't know I am making it, so there is no pressure there anyway. (This is how I end up with ufo's) Either something went awry, or something is wrong in my mind's eye with it. Or of course, waiting on more pieces to finish it is a good excuse too. Time to begin pulling out the UFO's and begin the correction and finishes.

Good to read what others are working on. Doing some blanket stitching around some little scotties, the tartans were bought on our trip to the Maritime provinces back in 2007 😀

So far exactly what I have expected, no sewing.

I was requested this morning to make cookies for DH to bring to the youth group Christmas party tonight. Two batches of gluten free cookies! I don't normally bake gluten free since my friend who was GF passed away this past spring. So, a not so quick trip to the store to get ingredients, then I find out when we get back that he wants to bake quick bread first. Not enough time to sew so I help him a bit then hide in the sewing room to catch up on what you were doing this morning. It's 5:30pm and he is out the door with 2 trays of cookies and bread, and I need to clean up the kitchen after all the cooking.

With luck I can get some hand stitching done tonight???

Love all the pictures, hope everyone is getting lots of stuff done, thanks Heather for hosting
