I've just learned about this mystery and feel drawn into it already. I absolutely love your fabrics, JanieW and Thimblebugg.
Since I'm already doing the Bonnie Hunter mystery in two different sizes (and noticeably behind) this one will be on the wait list. Looking forward to seeing all the finished quilts.

I've printed this out, will be great to use up candy squares. I think this would be fine in totally scrappy. In looking at the finished lap quilt, I'm going to sort differently. Will use either one neutral for the "lights" or an assortment of them (white/cream) and then sort all my colorful candy squares into light/medium/dark and put the mediums back into the box. Unless there is a good contrast between those two groups, the secondary pattern won't show up. However it's a neat design going totally scrappy with the medium/dark group and not taking that into account when sewing. I think this would be really neat with two colors (neutral and contrast) and again, you could sort the colors, such as dark blue scrappy and light blue scrappy (and again, don't use anything that could go either way) and then the secondary pattern would really stand out.

Thank you Thimblebug6000, I have printed the pattern off and had already pulled some fabrics. But now looking at your quilt has me lusting for something similar. You do amazing work. I am anxious to see your finished work.

I have the first border on. It looks wavy but just needs a good pressing. This has been a tough slog. I will be glad to see it finished. I'm doing this for a friend and it's hard because I'm not fond of the colours she chose.
