As usual, finishing my multitudinous UFO's!!! I also started out the year by doing a big studio tidy as the DOOM (Didn't Organize Only Moved) piles had mounted up. Bought a whack of latching totes, labelled them and sorted. My goal is: no piles of anything on the floor, no shelves unsorted!
I also have been ticking off the $30 Maria Shell zoom workshops, which are affordable and information packed. I take them and then go over the recording, making notes to guide my work.
Finally, I want to create a "baby quilt reservoir" as all the young women in my extended family are going to be starting families in the next few years. My idea is to make different ones so the new mom can choose what appeals to her. I generally work improv, and below is a photo of the first on the list, a Terry Aske quilt:

WesternWilson -- that is stunning! Look at all that quilting! Turquoise is a great neutral color for a baby quilt but it happens to be a color I am falling in love with so this Terry Aske quilt is a great starter for me to try to duplicate. Thank you for posting her quilt! Have you started yours yet?

Hello you! No I am in the middle of a more complex baby quilt based on the Anthologie quilt quiltalong. Need to finish that first, and I think when I do tackle that Terry Aske quilt I will do it in blue-green as well. With coral hits.

My first goal for the year is to recover the cushions of our sunroom furniture. It's rattan furniture and the cushions have faded so badly, they almost look white. I'm not really enjoying it, but it beats paying a couple thousand for new furniture or to have someone else make them. Once that is done, I will allow myself to make something fun. I have a lot of my stash grouped together in kits and I can't wait to dig in!

Happy New Year!
1)Finish piecing Christmas quilt started 2 years ago,
2) make Christmas quilt for great grand nephew,
3) make baby quilt for soon to be born great grand nephew,
4) teach grand daughter how to use long arm,
5) Enjoy my life with my family
I'd say 'lose weight', but...

checked off:
refold/straighten fabric closet. Didn't take long and I think this is only the 2nd time I've needed to do since ruler folding everything 20+ or more years ago.
Chose two tops to donate to our little group for their hospice quilts, Bitcoin in yellow/white/blue and Triple Treat in greens. I don't take a real part in their quilts because I don't make quilts like they do, but this year I'm going to avail myself on donation fabric to make pillowcases for our Helping Hand and that requires yardage which I don't have.
I have a few things to finish up, behind because of broken arm, but I'm getting close, so one thing I'm determined to do is make use of the hideious investment accuquilt requires
and make each block in their pattern book, 214 I think. Looking forward to it.
Otherwise I'm a happy quilter in my happy place. Work and burdens have no place there
all the best to everyone!

Okey Dokey, here I go with the list from my 2025 Quilting Journal:
1. Finish the Fall Boom Block quilt
2. Finish the Spring Block quilt
3. Finish the HST Hospice Quilt
4. Finish the Cleopatra's Fan quilt
5. Make a Quilt for JF.
6. Make a Carpenter's Star quilt for BK
7. Finish three UFO's from the past few years
8. Make a graduation quilt for JB
9. Two Baby Quilts in January
10. Finish 2024 BOM Quilt.
I also have a yearly goal of 100 yards of fabric out of my stash. Made it two years ago and came close in 2024.
Make 1 quilt each month using 2.5" squares. I have an abundance.
Yep, a big list but I can do it as long as I avoid squirrels AKA creative moments.

Yikes, what is happening with our goals this year? I just rediscovered the thread when cleaning out my "Subscribed Threads" List. Have you met your goals for 2025 or made a dent in them perhaps? We are always so ambitious in January and it is now the end of October. How 'ya doing?
My list 2025 List:
1. Finish the Fall Boom Block quilt
2. Finish the Spring Block quilt
3. Finish the HST Hospice Quilt
4. Finish the Cleopatra's Fan quilt
5. Make a Quilt for JF.
6. Make a Carpenter's Star quilt for BK
7. Finish three UFO's from the past few years (Finished 11 to date)
8. Make a graduation quilt for JB
9.Two Baby Quilts in January
10. Finish 2024 BOM Quilt.
I also have a yearly goal of 100 yards of fabric out of my stash. (Only at 51 yards out of my stash to date.)
Make 1 quilt each month using 2.5" squares. (I think I have finished four and a fifth is being quilted this week.)
I know the list looks like I am terribly prolific, but the truth is I like to start quilts then, woops, here I go in another direction. Thus, I end up with many starts that need to be finished.
I know I will not be making or even starting the two quilts left on the list because I have a pile of Boom Swap Blocks to turn into quilt tops with more on the way soon. My plan is to get more of them done and donated, so I can return to trying some new patterns and projects.

I just finished the last of my 8 projects for the guild Finish It Club. One item on the list was a 48” x54” top made in the early 1990’s. And I was so excited about finishing everything on my list that I also finished a table topper and a mini quilt kit I purchased this Spring! If you finish all the items on the guild Finish It Club, you get your name entered into a drawing for a gift certificate. I don’t even care about winning the gc. I feel like I’ve already won by getting these 8 off my list.
