I got over half of the fabric ironed, but my back is saying enough for tonight. So I will switch to some hand sewing, Ashley looking forward to a picture of the current progress in the pixel quilt.

Fun to have a community to quilt with. I finished the hand stitching on the binding of the Merry Mayhem mystery nap size while stitching/visiting with my friend this afternoon, here is the link to where I posted the photo in that thread.

DH has requested a change of plans for tomorrow morning….no guild zoom for me……but hope I get back to some stitching in the afternoon when his sports games are happening on TV.
thanks everyone for your photos!

Thinking of you and VQW helped me stay focused to finish the quilting on the center medallion.
Now to work out the pattern for the next border. I have a picture in my head, need it on paper.
So pleased with my progress.
We have a new kitty, maybe 6 mo old. A friend is the neighborhood collector. She chose Yarley for me. Yarley is affectionate and shy. She wants to be friends with our dog, Danae. Danae isn't interested. There are a few rules worth standing firm: no cats on the kitchen counter and potty time is outside. She's starting to get the idea. One of her favorite sleeping spots is on the ironing board. Covered it with a beach towel. Not worth the fight. Choosing battles. She's letting me pet her but picking her up isn't OK. We're getting there. One time she slept on the desk while I was working. I'll need to clean up the desk before she clears off a place herself.

Good morning! I will be cheering you all on. Mom (91) is visiting this weekend so we will be having fun.
I have a baby quilt on my design wall. I am waiting for the backing to arrive. Hobby lobby gave me a raincheck for the fabric so when it arrives, I will get the 40% off sale price. My local quilt store doesn't stock the plush fabric that the mother of the baby requested.

Heather, thanks for hosting. I’ve started a scrappity-do-dah quilt to use up as much scrap Covid mask fabric as I can. Abbyquilts suggested the McCall pattern with a commitment to make 4 or 5 blocks a week. By December we will have enough for a lap size quilt. This weekend I’ll continue to cut fabric for the project and make a few blocks. I’ll set it up as a leader/ender project.

Hello ladies. I thought I would try and join in the weekend sew-in with you. I just finished the hand sewing the binding on a baby quilt I have promised a charity board member friend for her new grandson. Now only two to go. The other two are promised to a friend who lives down in california near the fires. He is an international star singer. He is good friends with most of the diabetes staff. Hubby and I think the world of him for he is a lovely person and generous with his time.
I am making a set of three new potholders for myself. The old ones will not come clean anymore. Hubby is pretty rough on them. He has taken to cooking every weekend on the Trager. I will not complain, I love not having to cook for a couple days in a row. So, I will happily make new potholders. I will machine the binding on in prep for the hand finish.
I have the second baby quilt all pressed and the backing prepared. I just need to cut the batting and throw into the machines to shrink it a little.
I will make some breakfast while the batting is fluffing. I will try and find the backing for the last little boy quilt in between. These are not show quilts, just baby quilts so the quilting is pretty easy to get through.
Happy sewing ladies. I will check in later to see what you have done.

I'm a little late to the party, but here's my list. 1) Need to use seam ripper for a long seam between sashing and blocks. Blocks are set on point and this quilt has fought me nearly every step of the way! 2) I've gotten distracted by one of my never ending scrap projects: making 48 railroad crossing blocks in an attempt to reduce my bin of strips and strings. Pleased to report that volume of bin is slightly less. 3) I need to sew backing together then load another batik scrap quilt on the longarm and figure out how to quilt. The "quilt as desired" doesn't help me much when I don't know what I want.
Happy sewing!

Great morning everyone! I am so close to making the final blocks for the jellyfish pixel! I've sewn the blocks into columns labeled A-K. I have J pinned in sections! Hope to connect all and post pic this afternoon.
Pixels are cut 1.25" and finish at 3/4".
I have developed a system to save time. If anyone is interested, I could create a tutorial. I will always be a teacher!
Once I finish the flimsy, I must prepare 3 quilts that I committed to my Guild's Quilt Show in February. This is my first show, and I am having motivation trouble hand sewing the hanging sleeves. They are clipped into place. They will get prepared before quilting the flimsy. Probably.

Count me in again too. Sounds like some interesting projects are scheduled for this weekend. I just returned from a retirement party with friends from S Carolina. I got out just ahead of the snow storm only to come back to lots of snow still on the ground. For those that get “real” show, Delaware doesn’t get accumulations often and there isn’t much equipment to deal with it. I’m not used to seeing soooo much white! LOL I have a pineapple wall hanging to add binding to and rows to sew to finish a QOV that has been in the works way to long. If I can finish those two this weekend I’ll be happy.
