I managed some progress in my sewing area today. Just need to make 13 more Block Bs, then I'll be done making the blocks. I also started some of the partial blocks that will fill in around the edge.

    Default Big stitch

Our day evolved and I have managed to wash my mystery quilt, thankfully with colour catchers as I was using unwashed batiks….and now I have returned to doing some big stitch on my multi coloured batik heart quilt. The design was by Macybaby but I did change it up a bit. I think I posted how I was doing my stitching before, but here is a quick shot of the golden threads paper I trace my design on…then big stitch with perle cotton and a chenille needle,,,then use a wet q-tip to wet the design line, so the golden threads paper just dissolves and pulls away without pulling my hand stitching.

Good evening, looks like everyone is very productive and having fun.

I didn't get as much done today as I wanted, after I got home from visiting my mom, a 3 hour round trip. DH wanted to visit one of our neighbors, she is developing dementia but today was a good day, visit was a short one only a hour. Late this afternoon I decided to work on one of my UFO's from 2016 The 365 project, well I am officially up to February 21st. maybe a few more years and I will get it done. Tonight I'm going to do some more hand work on the x-stitch again. Tomorrow we are staying home since it will be a high of -4 and wind chills around -25. So tomorrow will be quilting the baby I spy and trimming up a wall hanging so I can bind it.

Wow, I just read through the thread, there are a lot of sewing machines singing along and hands working this weekend. Friday I picked up the fleece I was hoping to buy for the two heart quilts made New Years VQEdition. I got them trimmed and layered and glue basted yesterday. Planning to quilt and machine stitch the binding today. I have some time off from work this week, and I have three other flimsys I am hoping to finish throughout the week. Looking forward to checking in later to see what everyone gets accomplished today.

Sounds like a really productive weekend!
I am literally 1 block away from completing my pattern. I knew I was tired last evening, and that is when I make mistakes. So, I cut myself off! Stay tuned. Today is the day. I will have to help prepare for the freezing temps on Monday and Tuesday. Yesterday was in the 70s! Love South Texas!

I got all my QOV blocks sewn into rows and then into the finished top. I also laid out a second QOV top
And then jumped over to layer a small wall hanging. Today’s plan is to quilt the one WH and then bind both. At my retirement party we all made a small pineapple WH to remember the day. We also made one for the gal who was unable to attend.

Default Wish I had seen this 2 days ago!

Everyone is so productive! I have been working on a log cabin border - using Judy Martin's add-on for EQ8 - trying to make it look like the northern lights in the night sky with different dark blues on the bottom and different purples/greens/blues on top (will post a photo later). I hope it will look good - the main quilt is scrappy stars on a dark blue background. Yesterday I finished my Tinners block for our guild - this month I had to do a 'bat' block. I am also trying to reinstall EQ8 because when I got my new computer, EQ installed to the 'cloud' and I couldn't access my old quilts properly.

Saturday I made 14 Kennel Quilts for animals rescued from the fires in California. I have another 10 to go that I have batting cut for, so that takes care of Sunday and maybe Monday. Hopefully mailing off by UPS on Tuesday.

Update: 1) Managed to get the seam ripped, will work at redoing it right later this afternoon. 2) Well on the way to completion of 48 8" blocks for railroad crossing quilt 3) still need to get backing pieced and batik quilt loaded on longarm. Keep upo the good work. I always like to break and follow everyone's progress ( or lack thereof!)
