    Default Bigfoot Quilt

Good morning! I finished a quilt for my adult son over the weekend. He's always been fascinated by Bigfoot and other weird creatures and his favorite color is green. The quilt's center was an adaptation of Elizabeth Hartman's pattern, "Legendary." Then I cut up a panel I found called "Legends of the National Parks." I made a scrappy checkerboard border and then used a solid from a line of fabrics with the same name. A friend long arm quilted it with leaves in variegated browns. He loves it.

This is fabulous! My BIL is a Bigfoot fan, too, and I’m really inspired by this!

Very creative! Such a great idea to combine the Bigfoot with the parks fabric. Love your quilt.

I almost didn’t click to open your post when I saw the title bc all the Bigfoot quilts I have seen were made exactly by the pattern. I’m glad I did click on bc I like your design. You sure made a one of a kind quilt any Bigfoot fan would love.
I should stop and take a picture of something I saw and send to you to show your son. While on my way to my sewing group, I got a glimpse of something in a pasture or field and wasn’t sure what I saw. I had just came through 4 or 5 miles of woods and this was the first house I came to with the field. It was a family of Bigfoot! I thought I didn’t see what I just saw.
It wasn’t until I was telling someone at sewing about it that I learned I did see Bigfoot. Of course they were all cut outs of metal, I believe. Just black silhouettes and I had a good laugh at myself. It turned out I know the guy that set it up and he is a jokester for sure. Next time I go through I’ll try to stop and get a picture. Anyway, love your quilt!

You created a one of a kind great quilt for your son. A friend of mine made 6-7 of Elizabeth Hartman's bigfoot quilts for her sons and grandsons.......all fans.

That is a fantastic Bigfoot quilt. I really like how you took the pattern then made it your own.

Wonderful adaptation of a pattern, Mary. And what a fun quilt to make.
