Boom 33 Stars

To my sick friends- ugh! Hope you're well soon.
I'm cleaning my sewing room so it will be workable when the yummy fabrics start arriving.
***I don't know if you remember my swap with Kaffe Fassett blocks. Well, I finished it, washed it, and something bled. I'm so bummed. I read someone on the board said to soak it in the tub with Dawn. I may try that. Any other suggestions are welcomed.*** THANKS!

Oh no... sorry to hear about all these sore throats and flus! Rest everybody, and get well soon. Janice, if you need more time to get the packages out, please take it.
SusieQ, sorry about your quilt bleeding. I hope you can find a safe way to remove those excess color dyes.
Today I am quilting one of my "bee" quilts from the last Boom... to donate tomorrow at my local group. Will snap a photo before it goes.
Happy Friday!

Oh Susie...so sorry to read about the bleeding fabric. Although I don't have any recommendation for after the fact, I do have one for before. I always wash fabric or quilts with Shout Color Catchers. I find them around the laundry detergents and fabric softeners. All the times I've used them, they come out of the wash discolored, but no bleeding on my quilts.

Well, I have RSV. Bummer. I actually don’t feel that poorly so I’m lucky. Hoping it doesn’t get worse. As long as I clear it next week, surgery won’t be postponed. Finger crossed!
SusieQ, sorry to hear about the bleeding problem. I empathize. I realize why my fabric bled. I forgot to use Retayne! I’ve never had an issue and I just realized I put it in the wash without Retayne and voila, bleeding. I could kick myself but I’ll cut myself a break as I’ve been highly distracted the last few weeks. Oh well, lesson learned!
F8’s go out tomorrow. Get ready, Stars! Woo hoo!

Here are my two efforts for this month. Baby Quilt #1 - Back is the same fabric as the fussy cut squares.... sweet little animal families in the woods.
The second is the Spring Boom 31 in its 80% finished state. It is currently 52 X 66 and I need to expand it closer to 70 X 90. Thinking narrow scrappy sashing followed by a black or cream border all around and then perhaps some sort of HST or suddo flying geese top and bottom with another black or cream border to add length. I have less than a fat quarter of the focus fabric left so I have to use it sparingly. Suggestions are welcome. This will be donated to a hospice center.
The Boom quilt is much brighter than in the photo. The light bleached out the colors significantly.
How is everyone feeling after this snuffly day? And Janice, your appointment? Was it with your surgeon? I have lost track. OOPS!

Oh no. RSV. Hope it doesn't make you any sicker. Get better, Janice.
Ready for F8s!
WMUT, what a darling baby quilt. The quilting is cute too! Lovely gift. And the boom quilt looks good. I think I made two blocks in that quilt.
Here, at last, is my first Bee quilt. I love how it turned out. Stole the setting design from NZQ. If you don't see your block, it's because it's in the second quilt, soon to be quilted and finished. Good job, everyone. Someone is going to be very happy. Second pic is the back, which you don't have to put in the gallery, Janice. Wait just a sec and I'll add the pics. It's from Boom 32.
Thank you to Reba for this pretty fabric!

SBG, great bee quilt! Look forward to seeing your second quilt!
Wmuteach, yesterday’s was PreOp with the surgeon. Today was PCP with for an ekg and nasal swabs. No Covid or flu, but RSV.

Hi everyone!
Here is the quilt that bled. I still think it's beautiful and if I can't get the bleed out so be it.
I love all the blocks you made!
My husband is my biggest fan but he's not crazy about Kaffe LOL
