Default Help Finding Rare Singer Replacement Parts for a Model 127

Hi all, I am looking for a replacement spring for a 1924 Singer model 127 (vibrating shuttle) bobbin thread guide. My husband and I gave the bobbin winder off my "new" 127 (I named her Flo) a good cleaning today. It was very gunked up and the bobbin winder wasn't working. We got it working, sort of. The thread guide looses contact with the cam at some point in its travels because my husband thinks the spring has relaxed over the years. I can still wind a bobbin if needed, I just have to apply pressure to the guide.
Does anyone have a good resource for finding hard to find parts? I have looked on eBay, sewing parts online and vintagesingerparts.com. The Google machine has also failed me. I believe the part number for this spring is 8260 according to the parts list I found.

    Thanks,
    Shari

You may want to check with the Old Singer Shop. https://oldsingershop.com/collection...machine-parts?.

Thank you for the link. I think I stumbled on it when I was searching before posting. There are a lot of parts for the machine, but unfortunately, no listing for the spring I was looking for. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I have singer head in the basement that I was going to try to get running and put on one of my treadle bases. I will check later to see if it has the spring you are needing.

I would be extremely grateful if you have the spring and can part (no pun intended) with it. It does seem to be an elusive part to find. I thought of trying one from a 66 or 99 from that era that has the same thread guide. The ones I could find aren't that expensive, but the cost of shipping is more than the spring itself.

    Thank you
    Shari

I've got the bobbin spring issue fixed. I just took the thread guide off and move the tang to the little hole closest to the cam assembly. All is well with bobbin winding now.

    Thanks.
