2024-2025 Merry Mayhem mystery

Quossum -- I love your quilt back and quilting design. I'm terrible at freehand quilting so stick to pantos, but your example makes me want to try something similar.
I made the first clue for the Game Day quilt. I decided to increase the blocks from 4-1/2" to 5-1/2" so I could use the smaller pattern but end up with a bit larger quilt. I just didn't have it in me to make a gazillion HSTs. I haven't cut anything else in case I need to make more adjustments.

From reading the initial instructions it looked like the mystery will be more in the arrangement of the HSTs. At least that's what I'm banking on. We have a special church service that day so I won't get home until after lunch, and by then at least 3 clues will be up. I'll be able to see the direction she's taking and if it won't work for these size blocks I can always make up a simple design myself.
Is anyone else doing the Game Day mystery? If not I'll start posting on the Various thread.

I'm going to at least check the website and save the instructions. Not sure if I will sew it next weekend I have 4 things in progress, so keep posting here please, I don't want to have to stalk you to find your posts.

Yes!
February 9 is the last day of a quilt retreat so I have done up the first two steps and hope to at least collect the last steps before needing to pack up and leave. Living in the pacific time zone should make this possible. My goal is to keep up and come home with a finished quilt top. Only twice have I ever been able to keep up with Merry's one day mystery.
I finished the New Year's Day quilt. It is just waiting for the (made) binding to be sewn on and then I'll show it here.

Well, I'm not really happy the way the mystery ended as we are supposed to choose our own arrangement of blocks. She does give several examples. But if I had known that I probably wouldn't have sewn the blocks into four patches as it would have given me more options for arranging them. I am making the small version and have 20 of these blocks made up to arrange in a 4 x 5 layout. I'm setting it aside for now and will decide later what to do with them. I have ended up pleased with my colour choices.
