About the link I shared: that is a really cute block for sure but I'm wondering if it would be too heavy to make a whole quilt out of. I was also thinking pillows or cute ornaments, etc.
Sewbiz- your Ivy is precious!!!!! Arden also started kindergarten in September. How does that happen so quickly??????

SusieQ, a pillow made with that block would be beautiful.

Back from PT. Well! The PT said I have normal range of motion already in the knee (yay, me!) but the leg as a whole is weak. And the other one isn’t very strong either! (Boo!). Too much sitting around these last several months I suppose. Anyway, I’m starting from a fairly good position but it’s going to take more than just walking to get proper strength back. I start in earnest tomorrow. There’s a mixed blessing as she had me huffing and puffing during the evaluation. On, dear!!!

Great news on your knee, Janice. I'm sure you'll be up to full strength pretty soon. That's what PT is for. Great that you can get out of the house and walk so soon.

Loved the video, TG. It looks like it would make a cute tote bag or pillow. If I made a quilt with those, I wouldn't use any batting. Wouldn't a purse with all our scrappy birthday candy be great?

SusieQ, I remember that Ivy and Arden are about the same age. So precocious at that age! And don't say anything in front of them that you don't want repeated!

Anyone still following the eaglets at Big Bear Valley, CA? They received their new names, Sunny and Gizmo. They are growing so much! Now they are about half of the parents' size. So cute. Their little pin feathers are coming in on the edges of their wings and their tails.

I checked in with the eaglets this afternoon. They are darling! We’ve got a female mallard nesting next door. She laid many eggs that hatched last year but the ducklings quickly disappeared. Hawks??? Hope she doesn’t suffer the same fate this year.

We’re having a whopper of a thunderstorm. The lightning and Thunder are both startling in their intensity. But, of course, we need the rain desperately so I’ll enjoy Mother Nature’s show while it lasts.

Terriamn, your package arrived safely. Thank you!

It was SusieQ who posted video. My concern is it’s only ironed down. What happens after washing it? Or did I miss a step

We were back to winter today- well it was snowing but at 40 degrees!! Stayed home !

Janice glad to hear you finally got rain.

Good morning from Rehab central. My body knows it had a workout yesterday, albeit a brief one. Today will be worse. Oh, dear.

Poor Ernie! Turns out he can hear some of the loudest sounds and that includes thunder. Poor boy was picked up just after Helene so he was out in the storm. He was very upset last night during our first thunderstorm since we got him. My heart ached for him but he snuggled under blankets and settled. He’s fine this morning. On the plus side, we got a lot of rain, at least an inch in a short period of time.

Reminder, blocks are due in my hands in about four weeks, Friday, May 2.

Hope everyone has a good day today. If you’re in the path of the storms, stay safe.

TG... I thought about that too. But I just zoomed through the video, so figured I would go back and watch more carefully to see if there was more than ironing...

It’s sad with my sewing room all packed away. Keep thinking I can pop in and work on baby Mia’s quilt. 🥲

Janice good luck on your PT. Do you have to do leg strengthing exercises? Good news on your range of motion. And wonderful news on the rain

Took my walk immediately this morning, high humidity and 97 predicted. Knew it was walk early or forget it. Upon returning hubby said do you want to go for a long ride this morning through all 8 parks before the heat hits. Perfect with the wonderful breeze. Will spend the afternoon enjoying the water at the pool
