It feels like ages since I was on this thread. @Gemm your string quilt is fabulous as are the ones posted by @retiredteacher09 . I seem to have lost my quilting mojo right now -- after having bronchitis in late Feb/ early March I just can't seem to get back to sewing. I really need to get back on the ball. I purchased a bolt of dark blue fabric at JoAnn to use as backing. Thankfully their bolts are only 8 yards. I'm pretty amazed at how restrained I am. My stats in March are pretty dismal -- 24 yards in (all from JoAnn) and only 6 out. But I've dusted off the neglected sewing machine and am planning to finish two UFOs before Easter. Maybe that will help me get back in the groove.

I'm happy to say I just finished binding 4 quilts this past week so I can finally include them in fabric used. The dinosaur quilt took around 15 fat quarters plus 3 yards background fabric. The Squares in Motion quilts x 2 took I think around 5 yards each and my UFO Ombre quilt from 2019 took around 5 yards.

I am at a quilt retreat and I worked a top that is all 1830's reproduction prints. These are based on the fabric found in an antique quilt housed in a Vermont Quilt museum. The simple four-patch blocks and a two yard piece of companion fabric were found in a box of odds and end that had been donated to me about three years ago. The salvage of the companion fabric took me on a google journey to locate the designer of the reproduction fabric, the museum and just a little about quilter who made the original quilt in the 1840s to 1850's. I love historical journeys and this was an unexpected one.

Just a quick note - working on a UFO that was made out of stash can give you so many amazing ideas for more stash quilts! Now I just need the time and energy to act on those impulses. Hoping to post in the UFO thread soon.

I've been doing pretty good on not collecting fabric, I'm doing really good on organizing (and still purging) what I have. I have been buying fabric for a particular quilt, but had to order fabrics unseen because of my vision issues. I have 3 out of 4 perfect fabrics, and two close but misses. Fortunately both of those are very usable. I'll be doing the Labyrinth Walk pattern, which is what I call a "planned" quilt, and needs good selections to achieve the 3-D effect.
Now I can drive again I have plans to go to my favorite "local" (about 30-45 minutes away) shop. There is a small chance I will pick myself up and go today but more likely next week. She (the owner) prefers to deal with cash, so I do keep myself within budget by limited cash on hand!

Way to go, Iceblossom! Thanks also for the link to the Shelburne Museum.
I posted my quilt finish in the UFO thread (Tiny Houses). The quilt finished at about 40"x52". The bulk of my stash has been built since the beginning of COVID but most of it has been thrifted, gifted or otherwise frugally acquired, including the charm pack of white squares for the house/tree backgrounds which I got in a care package of fabric and the backing, which I found at a local thrift store. The binding was "old stash" from the mid 90s. Knowing what I had available informed much of what I did on the quilt top (I only had enough white squares for a certain number of houses). The quilt top was finished in April of 2023 and sat in a box for a while. :-)
I'm still not a big fan of the "quilting" part but I got it done and there is "fabric out" - maybe about 3.5-4 yards?
