Good sunny, cool morning from my house to yours. Looks like it will be a very nice day. Yesterday DH and I (mostly DH) washed the windows and screens and put everything in place. We threw open all the windows and just let spring in. Fresh air and no flies creeping in. Wonderful.
GramE, a new block to me! I love it. You’re almost there!
LC82 and Terriamn, my dad had a bad back from all the labor he did while he was younger and went to the chiropractor. He stopped going after some sort of problem and flatly refused to ever go back. It’s been suggested several times that I try it but I cannot make myself go. I’m glad it’s helping you Terriamn.
Last night we had dinner at the grands’. We brought Ernie. Big mistake. I spent the entire time fretting about him getting out of the yard because the family routinely leave their house door open and there are escape routes from the back yard. Since he can’t hear, you can’t call him. Everyone kept trying to get me to relax about it with “he’s fine” but that just irked the heck out of me. Ernie decided to challenge the neighbor dog, a big black lab and sweet but off leash, and Ernie ended up being knocked down to his back. No worse for wear but the lab was taken home. Ernie thinks he’s a mastiff. Anyway, we all did survive but that’s the last time I bring Ernie. Worrying about him took all the fun out of the evening.
Mariposa’s blocks came in! Looks like we’re in good shape for an on time finish. Woo hoo!
Better end here before this becomes a novella. Have a lovely Sunday.

Janice, it is a new block to me too! It just grabbed my attention. It’s called Railroad Crossing and was simple and accurate. I haven’t had too many of those. But it starts off saying you need a square of two fabrics 10 3/4”. That doesn’t work so well with a skinny fat8th. But next it says you will have squares/triangles leftover. I cut the big one out of test fabric, I had twice as much as I needed. That 10 3/4” sq only needed to be 7 1/4- 7 1/2”. What a waste.
I have another dr appointment on Wednesday. They think I might have a kidney problem and that is the reason for my unidentified swelling. I’m voting on medication that I wasn’t taking before January. And they are weaning me off of now. I love my stimulator, I am just having trouble reading the pain signals. She said I need a bit of training. Don’t be too hard on Ernie, I’m a slow learner with lots of handicaps too and I still wanna run with the big dogs!!!
lots of music today will keep my mind focused on the task at hand! 1 1/2 blocks to go. I can see the finish line!
Everyone have a blessed day! ❤️

Oh Janice I remember the same thing with our Rio when she went deaf. As a rule she was just happy to be around us but when that urge came she was gone in a flash and the chase was on.
Today is our son in law’s Mother’s Celebration of Life, hoping he and his brothers will be ok. My oldest is in Minneapolis for a work conference and we will pick her up, nice she can attend
Janice I really fear going to the chiropractor but he has helped me tremendously.

Janice - I used to be like that with the children! Scared they would break something or wander off or fight with the other children. So difficult to relax. At least it was for me!
Another blustery day.
As for Chiropractors- there are good and bad just like any other profession. I have neck issues from whiplash and have found a few that can help. They may understand what needs to be addressed but not used to doing it.
Great new blocks GramE.

I got my Christmas cardinals done for Lisa. Closer and closer I’m inching towards being done!
Those who study pain understand that there is no pain is pain standard. I can’t remember where I filed the graph but there are people who have the knee issues like Janice had/has but they feel no pain. Pain is a warning that something is wrong, so those who feel very little pain, pay in the end because their frailties are discovered but only after the have gotten to worse case scenarios. Then there are those, like us, who are more sensitive and like me they think I’m faking. They told me after the accident that my pain couldn’t be that bad I just had a bruise. Well, truth was I had a leg full of blood. But the dr accused me of wanting time off work so I was exaggerating my pain. I’d like to go see a couple of them Now.
Well, I’m down to 3 1/2 blocks left, so I better get going. I’m taking a rest break before making supper now. Thursdays are usually hamburger & onion hash because I’m frying the toppings for tomorrow’s pizzas. Friday is always homemade pizza night but I try to prep ahead as much as I can. I have a great recipe for crust, it makes two but I make breadsticks out of the second if I’m not playing pizza delivery person to the neighbors, or someone sick at church.

Oh, Terri! That must have been excruciating! Ach. Scares me to think of how much that must have hurt.
Mariposa, I’m watching your package make its moves!
I’m having a lazy afternoon. No dusting going on here. Just finished a wonderful book, The Henna Artist, and I’ve already found the second in the series on Libby and am almost 10 percent of the way in. The author is Alka Joshi and I love her writing style. If you haven’t read her, give her a try.
Hummingbird battles continue at the feeders!
Pleasant evening, Stars!

lstew, the Cleopatra's fan is not paper pieced. I never even thought about that. I was given the plastic templates with the instruction book for the block, but found them to not lead to accurate piecing. Frustration was reigning for weeks. I gave up when a friend loaned me her Acuquilt Go and the template. WoW! what a difference. There are little notches on the pieces, like on a garment pattern. Match those little things up and the curves are much easier. Sometimes technology is "a good thing."
I have been lazy for the past few days and not made any progress on the fan quilt. Only need to connect one more row and add the borders. Why have I delayed this for so long? Tomorrow, I have to complete it tomorrow!!.

Beautiful day here in western PA. Yesterday I went to a boozy book fair to benefit the library in Johnstown PA. I was the DD for a group of girlfriends, we had a great time. I came home with two books. Sunday I Worked in the yard and got lots done. Now to get mulch and dirt for the garden. I love planting fresh veggies, tomatoes , squash, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers are my go to plants. Everything else we buy at the farmer’s markets. I want to try a compost bin this year. We will see how it goes. I would love to have a small greenhouse. Hope you all had a great weekend. I guess you can tell I am feeling much better.

Lstew good news that you are feeling better.
The Celebration of life was very nice. Lots of people I sure don’t remember ever meeting. It seemed like everyone had a nice afternoon of sharing memories.
Coming home we were on the freeway and I said to my hubby. Ok listen to me but don’t panic. Of course that darn near put us in the ditch. Told him I was having severe chest pains and didn’t know if I was ok. We turned and headed to the hospital. Five frightening minutes later I could feel the pain dissipate and we headed back home. All I could think about was the misery my dd and her hubby would be in if passed on that particular day. If it happens again I will get it checked out, hopefully it was heart burn.
