So, I have a question that goes along with 2.5 day.....I know late again. I think this summer needs to be a reboot of things for me. Anyway, has anyone done one of the pixel quilts? I have been seeing different ones online, this one was posted on Facebook. What I don't know is how you get the colors well coordinated so that you can actually see the flowers? Do you lay it all out ahead of time? Just an idea on a new project. The only one that I have done is a heart, and that was easy bc it was 2 color themes.

Wanted to share the most recent quilt that my 17 year old daughter made. She will be going to college for a BFA in Musical Theatre performance, and she gave this to her HS music teacher. Very proud Mom. It is made of 1.5 inch strips from my scrap bag, and a pattern we found to buy digitally.

Heather, you must be just about to burst with pride. That is a lovely accomplishment by your daughter and to then gift it. Musical Theatre, I was just watching the Jimmy Awards on FB yesterday. Some marvelously talented students who got to compete on Broadway last weekend.

SBG, so glad your check-up went well. Once you have that diagnosis, 'ya get a bit jumpy when it is time for the next on. I know. I was so glad when my doc said I was good to go after five years! Whoo Hoo! Back to just the yearly mamo checks. Which I did faithfully all my adult life. (My mom and her 5 sisters all had the dreaded cancer, so I fall into the high risk category.) My genetic testing was negative for it being an inherited cancer gene. But for my mom and her sisters it was likely environmental. They lived on a fruit farm that used lots of chemical spray to keep bugs, scab and other fruit diseases away. TMI I guess. Just glad you're doing well and can enjoy your grands and family.
Good progress on my additional blocks for Boom 32. One done and the second cut and ready to go. I will likely take them along with me to my quilt work day tomorrow. Finishing up top #2 will take the morning and then Wonky starts with 2.5's for the afternoon.
Took my walk tonight, M-U-G-G-Y! but I met my goal! No bears, lots of cars and I got squawked at by a family of killdeer. They are such good protective parents. They run around as fast as their spindly legs can go in different zig-zag directions screeching at you so you won't see their young or nest.

More info found: Stitch Fiddle creates gridwork for you to color in, MS Paint can be used by putting the image you want to do your pixel art with and then drop a grid on top of it to figure out what pixels need to be what color, there are some picture programs that will pixelate your photograph for you, too. youpatch.com sells you your art pixelated if you want to spend money on a pixelating program.
Go for it!

@Heathermom2opmc That quilt just SINGS!
Love seeing everyone’s projects, and also that cute kildeer! We have them here, too—I’ll have to see if I can get one of my nice pics in here. Resizing needed!
