Hpw do you keep your selvages from puckering from shrinkage?

So many of my selvages draw up - - - and I have to snip them to flatten them to press the rest of my fabric.

That turned out great! I remember sending you some selvages and now I have a whole lot more in my stash. I like the way you alternated the two blocks and also arranged yours by color. Very nice - huge!

It seems to me that using selvages for the entire quilt would make the quilt feel heavier, is that so? Congrats on your beautiful work of art!

Your quilt gives testimony to "waste not, want not"! I can't imagine the time it took simply to collect so much selvage and then to top it off with the size and the construction of this quilt. Certainly one of a kind and credit to this being an art, not only a craft. Great/fantastic job! Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I think it is really exciting to see a project like this, one that I would never be tempted to do myself, just for the contagious enthusiasm it generates in the rest of us

Some of my projects achieve what I am trying to do (or at least advance my skill/knowledge) but they are rarely well received. But sometimes I am taking the unwanted scraps and turning them into something at least useful. To take even scraps from those scraps and make something beautiful as well as a finished project is just awe inspiring and really part of what quilting is all about to me.

LOL, so I showed the quilt to the hubby who is not really very quilting oriented. He is all WOW and wants to know, (a) if he can share it on his facebook, and (b) if you have any idea roughly how many pieces there are in an average block. If you don't know already he may be willing to blow up the picture and count the border pieces...
