OMG, so true! I used to waste so much time worrying about what other people thought. Now, I make what I want, how I want. It's no one else's business and if they comment negatively, I just don't show them my work or ask them about it in the future.

You know, I don't log in very often, but the last few days, even tho the sun has been shining abundantly and it's been super hot, I've been feeling gloomy about sewing (bored maybe?) and thinking about making a small quilt, after about 10 years since making my last one.
This video is EXACTLY what I needed! I need people like her in my life, lol!
Thank you so much for posting this. I guess I can go buy those fifth and sixth rulers (because I don't have them) and large cutting mat I've been not purchasing because "do I really need another one that same size"? Maybe that's EXACTLY what I need!! Woo-hoo!!

I do care - but not always about what others think.
Not everyone can get what he/she wants when he/she wants it.
But if one can - and it isn't hurting anyone else - go for it if it makes one happier.
Looking at what I've acquired over the years - and at how much of that I have never actually used - I do have a few regrets. Not many, but I do have a few.
My excuse(s) were that my addiction kept me out of the casinos, bars, and opium dens. It was "acceptable" for the time and place and circumstances that I was in at the time while indulging.
Sorry for being a Debbie Downer in this thread. The video was cute - and I sure could relate - except to the not washing fabric before cutting. Shrinkage and bleeds annoy me more than the extra work in avoiding issues later in the process.

I just have no reason in my head to care what others think about my quilting. I don't expect anyone to care about the quilts I make or offer an opinion. I don't care about their quilting. It can be absolute perfection and I give them all the praise they could ask for but I don't care that they made it perfectly. It could be a big mess and I would laugh or cry with the maker but I wouldn't care that it was a mess.
