The names of these quilts are as follows....purple/yellow is called Trail Mix, a free pattern I found on the Quilted Twins site in Florida. Their son got the next one in purples, blues and whites called Abstraction, not free thought. The Drunkards Path I created on EQ8 using the 7.5 and 3.5 templkates I've had for years and decided to go out of my comfort zone for curves. I found if you glue the ends and put a pin at the center while sewing them, it made it easier to keep them together. The last one in reds/whites, the couple asked for checkerboard and this is what I came up with. Watched a youtube video on making the blocks. I felt she goofed on the measuremeants though and used .5" larger than what she said to use and then trimmed to size. This I just called an Optical Illusion, used an E2E for the body and then custom for the sashings and borders. Had to make it large enough for a queen bed.

All fabrics came from my stash except the backings.

bearsgray, what I was trying to do was go from light in the center to dark on the outter edges but this idea came after I had made all the blocks so you can see I didn't have enough darks.

I also didn't have problems while quilting it until I got to the last couple rows, then I could see the illusion more.

Great quilts, all, but I'm especially drawn to Trail Mix. Maybe it's because I'm from Minnesota, and those are the Vikings colors. I really like the apparent randomness of it, although I know it was carefully executed.

Snooze -- stunning! You have your own mini quilt show going here. Blue ribbons for them all!

Loisf, the couple asked for purple and yellow so that's what I did. Used up a lot of scraps, fat quarters and yardage on this one as its queen size. They received it yesterday after church. Their son got the white, purple blue lap quilt for his own.

I ask what the recipents want for colors, style and size as I made a mistake years ago making a bed size quilt for a gal and she complained that she'd rather have a lap quilt. Got my feelings hurt with her comment but it taught me a lesson to ask before I do something and now folks seem to be much happier.

I have an UFO Cathedral Window queen size quilt top and I was able to find someone that wants it for now I can go ahead and quilt it and given it away as a gift. Also eliminates one more off my list for the church quilts. That's leaves me only 2 over size lap quilts to make and I'll be done with everyone in my church having a quilt from me. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel after all these years as I took 2 years off as I lost my mojo for any thing sewing/quilting and just got back to it this year. So far I've made and or finished 11 quilts this year with a goal of finishing 4 more queen size quilts before the end is done.

Congratulations on your finishes. Those are amazing!!! The first quilt you have shown has inspired me to finish a similar one that I have.
