I have a question for any nurses out there. It seems like there are three major places an IV is added. The top side of your hand in the vein, the inside of your wrist and the inside of your elbow. Just plain curios as how and why each spot is picked. Do certain surgeries use one spot over another or is it the nurses choice
Susie Q you and Sewbiz’s granddaughter’s are beautiful. Such a wonder Tim in your lives
TG I have never see your pin wheel block before love it and the bee block is adora
Cheesehead and you are off and running. All 3 blocks are gorgeous.
Nelco thank you for my block, love the colors
Unfortunately the med that was used this time I caused me to have a terrible time with vomiting and dry heaves. At the hospital I found out they could have prescribed and anti nausea pill. My blood pressure shocked me 180/95

Wonderful pics of the grandchildren, SuzieQ and Sewbiz. First grade is such a special time in their lives.
Great blocks, too.
Terriamn - Wow! So sorry you had such a bad reaction! I hope your results show a good outcome. Do you normally have high blood pressure? Earlier this year I had my first ever "All Clear" after my (eighth) colonoscopy. The prep is awful, but the peace of mind is worth it.

Here's some blocks for today. Each is a single, no bonus blocks .
Janice - One is from your blue and the other is your green with the dash of blue you included.
Sewbiz - The Rockwell fabric called out for special treatment. The block is actually straighter than it looks in the photo. You create such great blocks; I hope you like it.

Good afternoon, just stopping in to post pix to the gallery. Lovely granddaughter SBG! Ibex, the latest block for you was posted by me but was from SBG. I'm not sure you realized it. Terriamn, I'm sorry to hear you had such a rough time at the colonoscopy today. I never heard of the meds causing that trouble. Hope you are back to normal now. I usually have IVs in the back of my hand. Cheese, three blocks already? They're terrific!
I'm going to the cabin tomorrow. I will take my computer but I won't be making any more blocks after I finish today's until next week. I am going to relax and read and play with the pup. He's going with me.
I took my old Kenmore in for a final check out before I give up on her entirely. The tech said it sounds like it's the timing. We'll see. I hope he can fix her so that I don't have to buy a new one as my Juki is strictly straight stitch. I'd like a few other stitches. There was an adorable Janome travel sized on that might be perfect for a second machine. I meant to ask how much it is but got so excited by a darling panel it went right out of my head.
Have a nice rest of your day, Roses.

Thank you sewbiz girl. I have a 2 month window coming up that I will be away from my studio. Last year, I had a similar situation, and I was able to design and plan each block before the fabric showed up, so I was able to hit the ground running when the fabrics came in. Still other things fell by the side. I plan to join again in 2026.

Hi AQ, good to hear from you! We’ll have our next Boom after the New Year. If you check-in with this thread, you should see the announcement. I joined Boom 9 or 10 and have been here continuously in one capacity or another since. You’ve got me beat! Hope you are well. What are you working on?
Right now, I am working on 5 quilts for my daughter's children in Scottland, 4 tops are made, and one just needs a border or two. One of the tops is on the longarm.
These are not the ones we worked on for the 5 granddaughter's up North in Washington. These 5 quilts got pushed up to 2026. I already talked to my daughter, and she is OK with me delaying them due to the quilts for other relatives.
After the ones for the Scottland grandchildren is done, I am looking forward to working on The Farmgirl Vintage quilt this group helped me with. Also, have4boys and mariposa are blessing me by helping make blocks. This will be a queen-sized quilt, so lots of blocks. The daughter, that is the Goat manager, and her husband will be buying their first home. I am so happy for them and plan to celebrate this occasion by getting this quilt completed for them.
For the 2 months I am away from my machine, I have small primitive quilt blocks or tops that I am sewing wool or cotton down. Think of designers like late Cheri Payne, Julie Porter or Jan Patek.
I am also doing a lot of much needed domestic decluttering, per hubby's request. He was actually the one that asked me to skip this BOOM. Between decluttering, organizing and medicals, I am pretty busy.

One last block until next week. It’s for Terriamn. It and I did battle, turning units this way and that until I was swearing. DH was at the doorway about to come in when I heard him tell Ernie, “I’m not going in there!” Anyway, it’s sewn now but the directional units aren't all facing the same way. So be it. This block is ready to be done with me! lol. I picked up the pink in the cheeks for the star. I originally tried blues but they seemed to get lost in the print. Hope it will work for you.

AQ, you are very busy! You caught my eye with the mention of Scotland. I have a few generations of cousins in Aberdeen. I hope to get over there one day to see them on their own turf. Good luck with the decluttering. It will feel refreshing to have more space (for fabric and quilts) I’m sure.
I am looking forward to the BOOMS in 2026 and plan to join again.

All 2 pieces great blocks especially like Sewbiz’s.
All 2 pieces I am on blood pressure meds and it is usually 120/70 so the 185/90 was shocking.
Anna sounds like a fantastic 2 months you have planned. You go girl.

No blocks to day. Mr. Google and I are having issues. I need to contact some tech folks tomorrow. I can't take a photo and send it from my phone to my email account. Grrrr! Maybe some photos tomorrow.
