Good morning. Mjp, I really like your two Christmas blocks for Cheese and Lstew. Both are so nicely done. Love the fussy cuts on Lstew’s. Terrific blocks.

I have a completely free day ahead of me. I wonder how I’ll spend it. Have a happy day.

Great Christmas blocks, MJP. I have never heard of Japanese Taupe Quilts so I looked it up. Found the book. The blocks look really nice. That's another source of block designs for us to pull from.

It's cool but not cold here. 75 degrees presently. A great day to be outside! Marty is outside, shadowing his dad. He's a happy camper in this weather.

I'm working on a set of Boom Blocks from Boom 31. I'm doing QAYG (quilt as you go), because I had so many pieces of leftover batting to use up. I have a stack of 13" square batting pieces ready to go. Will show the quilt when I get it together.

MJP, I look forward to my little bag from you and the pattern. I am sure I could figure it out, but having it ready to go will make it quicker and less brain power! Thank you,

Janice - my featherweight is opposite in bobbin and needle threading - so when I take it with me I have to mumble to myself -"She is my favorite because she is unlike any other"
A2P - the block - hmm - I liked one that had templates and years ago just redesigned it to be PP.
Spices - My mother always made sure her food stuff was put away over the winter. one year the mice got into all her spices. What a mess. We had never seen it before and was taken back. One good thing was we got to dump all the old old outdated spices!5"
MJP - love the "Beach Bum' Great!!!

One of the ladies in my Bible Study was diagnosed with Blood cancer so I made her a Hug Shrug for her - I just so happened to have plenty of her favorite color purples!
And Using a pattern I saw I tried it out with my bins of ISpy fabrics. So easy! It is made up of 5" squares and 3.5" corners. I sewed corners twice to get the HST for border.

I went out and had to get white thread - so now onto Janice's blocks.
The shrug is simply beautiful and comfy looking, reminds me of a nice hug. The "I Spy" quilt is so cute. The recipient will love this quilt.

SBG, so glad you have a cause for Marty's discomfort. Back injuries are so painful! It must be difficult for an animal who has no words to communicate that "my back hurts right here". Glad you can now offer him some relief.

Keep walking Janice. You will get there eventually. You for so long were the rabbit that I tried to catch every day before and after my new hip. At least now that you have slowed down I can catch up with you.

I just can't wait any longer to show these photos of some other beach bums. I snapped them in August at the AQS how in Grand Rapids. The maker of the quilt submitted this quilt as part of her guild's challenge submission at the show. The detail in the five ladies was amazing. Each had a each bag stuffed with quilt magazines, snacks, beverages of all sorts and quilting/sewing projects to finish along with beach paraphernalia. A delightful wall quilt that made every one smile and snicker if they stopped long enough to look. Zoom in for the details. They may bring you a giggle too. Good illustrations of how different we quilters can be yet we are all so alike.
These quilts are so good, and so funny.

Unfortunately I had another panic attack today. I was in Hobby Lobby, the few cashiers that were working had long lines and almost everyone was buying things that had to be wrapped. Add loud music and the gal talking loudly into her phone and it wasn’t up by her ear. Good chance I made it worse by trying to deep breathe -I was practically hyperventilating. Thankfully I didn’t holller at anyone but told the lady behind me I was having an anxiety attack incase I fainted or something. I was so busy trying to calm myself down it never even entered my mind to leave my cart and go outside. Was glad I didn’t embarrass myself but won’t be going back there as they never have enough cashiers at the location closest to me.

Sewbiz we had the same thing happen with our Rio, she took off running full bore and hurt herself, goofy dog. Hope Marty heals quickly.
So sorry to hear of your attacks, I hope you find peace. Hugs

As for walking, right now I’m dealing with a big dose of laziness. I’m just out of the habit and my walking buddy is having health issues and doesn’t walk much. My knee still does swell up but apparently that’s not unusual. Still, it’s mostly laziness.

Terriamn, hugs.

Well, my project that I precut for the retreat, well it didn’t last very long in the bag. I was itching to put it up on the design wall and once I did that, I started stitching! I’ve got to find another project soon. Maybe I’ll make a second one as both will be donation quilts. Pic below. Sorry, the pic is dark. It’s blacks and whites with small color blocks.

It looks like a fine cold morning but it’s hard to tell as the sun won’t be up for another hour. Ernie is still sleeping but I’m guaranteed to get about half a mile walk with him once he eats. That’s something.

Have a good day.
Very nice quilt, I love the simple look of it.

Great blocks, I love the flying geese.

It’s a good pattern. I used steam a seam 2 for the raw edge applique.

Some of the blocks I used for her door hangings end up in boom quilts.
great quilts, I love your mothers wall hanging. I sure there were lots of chuckles from her neighbors as they went by her door.

I like them both. Hope you do too!

I have three more blocks and I’m thinking of doing patterns from the Japanese taupe quilts. We’ll see.
I love my block, it is so cute, thank you so much. Cheese's block is cute too.

Tooth got pulled, it was broke in half so there was no saving it. now I have a bruise on my cheek. It looks like someone gave me a good left hook. Still very sore so I am going to bed early tonight.

Good morning. I’m slowly plugging away on my B/w quilt top. It’s great, no seams to match! Today’s full with a Fiber Fair with vendors at the LQS, lunch with friends and then we’re off to see “Clue” at the local theater. Haven’t been to a play in ages. Tomorrow, we’re off to see the family and have dinner with the grands. It’s already been two weeks since we’ve seen them. Surely they’ll have grown a foot since then!

Reminder, blocks are due to me by Friday, November 21. Keep an eye on the date. Please feel free to start mailing next week. A space is cleared out for them so I’m good to go. For those of you who didn’t prepay, don’t forget your shipping money. Thank you.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Janice, I saved a copy of your b and w quilt to do an image search, it came up with Specks of Color by Villa Rosa, but that doesn’t really look like it. Does it have a name or did you come up with it, thanks.

Ltsew sorry your tooth couldn’t be saved. I had all that dental work done two years ago and I can definitely relate to the bruise on your face, how it looks and how it aches.

My sister has stopped over twice asking for my opinion and help on making a denim quilt. Told her it was completely out of my wheelhouse and had no words of wisdom for her. The one thing I Know is it’s going to weigh a ton.

Went for my short walk, came back huffing and puffing but I did it.

We had some fun news yesterday, our friend who just lost her husband gave notice that she will be retiring Jan1 and will be heading to South Texas in February to split her stay with us and our other good friends who followed us down here. I am so happy for her.

Plan on working on my Winnie the Pooh quilt today. It’s going to be another hot one, to hot to even go to the pool.

Ladies have a good one

TB, honestly I don’t know where I saw it but it might have been on a scrappy quilting site. Was sitting in a doctor’s office and didn’t save it. I tried to locate the source but I cannot find it. I looked at the pic for a few moments and realized exactly how to make it and drew it up at home. I think mine is bigger than the pic of the one I saw. If you locate it, please let me know the source as it was definitely not my own idea.

Good morning everyone. Is anyone watching the World Series? My Yankees got knocked out by Toronto and they're playing the Dodgers.
I've been cross stitching like crazy this year. This is going to be for my grands. I'm almost finished.
