You all inspire me! I moved homes this past August and am still finding my way. I set up a sewing area in the basement and bought shelving that doesn't work. Now I have to reconfigure the area. I think I'll try to move one set of shelves out and set up a sturdier shelving unit if I can figure out how to. In moving, I found some 'quilts of valour' blocks (21" square) that I did and think I can finish at least one quilt top this weekend. I will try to.
I've never attempted a Bonnie Hunter mystery, but love the finished projects. Pixel quilts as well (the latest one I saw was Tula Pink by the British sewist, Adam) and I've only done french braids on table runners. I guess the idea is that we report back here with our progress.

I'm driving 2.5 hours to meet with an elderly (even more elderly than me!) friend and the plan is we'll do lunch and then the local quilt shop which is new to her since she moved to be with her daughter. She no longer drives and doesn't have access to a computer/wouldn't be able to use it if she had one.
I've got a small donation quilt to finish/attach binding on the longarm, and I've been given a knit/fleece thing to do something with. Bet you can tell I'm really psyched up to do that one! Best to put it out of it's misery and just do it/get it out of my house ASAP.
Happy quilting/sewing everyone!

Can you lay the shelving unity on it's side and fill with baskets or tins to hold your items?

I am about halfway through my pixel quilt, 5 rows of 10 blocks. Each block is 100 squares that finish at 8". It is starting to look like a fancy fish! I also finished my cross stitch project yesterday and have been looking for the next one.
Here is a pic of my finished CS.

My day got changed up, but in a good way, I got to pick up my GD and keep her for a few hours. I forgot I wanted to make a label for my Autumn Chickadees wallhanging I just finished and posted earlier, and have now attached the label. It was important to me to make the effort because that is the only way I knew I had made the original wallhanging in 2001! Where or where do the years fly to?
In the time between I actually managed to sandwich my pumpkinpatchbc BOM….happy about that!

Not a stitch today. So much for my sewing plans.
I spent most of the afternoon hunting for barley flour to use for a class with elementary age children at church. I will be making the common bread of the everyday folk in the first century, specifically in in Jesus' life time. Finely, seven shops later I found barley flour in my brother's pantry!! He is a foodie and grinds his own specialty flours. Why didn't I think of that at 11:30 this morning rather than late afternoon. Oh, duh!
Tomorrow will be another day!

I envisioned a full afternoon working on my quilt today. I got the backing sewn together and started pin basting. My last quilt had some puckers in the back, so to avoid that I taped the backing flat to my floor and pin basted more closely. I ran out of pins halfway through, and went to get more. Was distracted at the quilt store by a big sale. Got back home, finished pin basting, and discovered that with the tape holding the backing extra flat to the floor , I pinned almost every pin into the carpet. It was a pain. My quilt is basted now but I did not get nearly everything accomplished today that I thought I would.

I'm finishing up a Tardis Quilt for my son's partner. She is really into Dr. Who. Then I hope to begin cutting a stained-glass quilt with my batiks. They should both keep me busy.

I'm going to try. We are dog sitting for my BIL and we also have our own pets (1 dog, 2 cats) to take care of. I am still working on my potato chip quilt. I am in the quilting process right now. Using Ernestine for that (my 1923 Singer Red Eye treadle). I really don't have any excuses not to quilt. My orchestra is in between concerts right now. We won't start rehearsing for our Christmas concert (our most popular) until mid November, which is a good thing. My cello imploded on me on the day of our last concert just before the dress rehearsal. I was very upset about it. The good news is, it is being repaired and I should have it back just before the first rehearsal for the Christmas concert.
